Community Safety and Anti Social Behaviour ‘Respect in North West Leicestershire’ is a an initiative led by the Safer North West Partnership aimed at involving young people in projects which reduce anti-social behaviour, tackle crime and improve pride and respect in our communities. Through the grants, young people have been able to make a positive contribution to their community and their efforts have received recognition at an annual award ceremony hosted by senior members of the Safer North West Partnership.

Housing – Decent Homes Programme and capital works investments

2010/11 • 78 homes had capital works carried out at £118944, average £1524 2011/12 • 35 homes had capital works carried out at £43669, average £1247 2012/13 • 22 homes improved under DHIP at a cost of £123,505 (average £5,614 each) • 82 homes had Capital works at a cost of £103838, average £1266. 2013/14 • 65 homes improved under DHIP at a cost of £407,351 (average £6,267 each) • 223 homes had Capital works at a cost of £241425, average £1082.

Planning • 10/00038/FULM - Sports Ground Pavilion, Homestead Road, Thringstone - Demolition of existing club house and erection of new club house/community facility and eighteen affordable housing units, along with a three metre perimeter fence around the football pitch. Application was determined at the planning committee in March 2010 where a resolution to grant planning permission was secured subject to the completion of a Section 106 agreement. The planning permission was granted on 16.07.2010. • 11/00646/FUL - Rose & Crown, 23 The Green, Thringstone - Demolition of existing public house and erection of A1 retail unit, associated access and car parking. Application was determined at the planning committee in February 2012 where a resolution to grant planning permission was secured subject to the completion of a Section 106 agreement. The planning permission was granted on 26.07.2012. • 14/00013/FULM - The Fox Inn, 137 Main Street, Thringstone – Erection of 23 no. dwellings together with alterations to vehicular access and demolition of existing public house. Application has a resolution to grant planning permission subject to the completion of a Section 106 agreement. Discussions are on-going regarding the Section 106 agreement. • 14/00328/OUTM – Land off Road, Thringstone – Residential development of up to 85 dwellings (Outline – all matters reserved apart from part access) - Application was reported to the Planning Committee in October 2014 and now has a resolution to grant planning permission subject to the completion of a Section 106 agreement.
