Los comienzos de ciclo nunca son fáciles, pero las ganas de nuestros gimnastas, desde los más veteranos a los más jóvenes, sus entrenadores y cuerpos técnicos y de todo aquel que vive y siente la gimnasia como lo hacemos nosotros nos ha permitido que el balance de 2017 sea ilusionante. Sabemos que quedan muchas cosas por hacer, pero también confamos que vamos en una buena dirección para nuestro deporte. Athletics The French athlete Teddy Tamgho, current world champion in triple jump, is training in Havana with his coach, Cuban Iván Pedroso, looking at the World Championship next year in China. Teddy began training with Ivan here in Havana on September 2nd, in order to start preparing for the World Cup 2015, where he seeks to defend his title obtained in Moscow 2013, told Radio Havana Cuba news agency. It is the first time that Teddy has to train in Cuba and looks lively. He gets along very well with Ivan and trains almost every day for 2 training sessions, while alternating the beach with the track. Under Pedroso's eye, Tamgho, 25 years old, became last year the 3rd triple jumper who exceeds 18.00 meters and was crowned World Outdoors Championship in Moscow 2013 with 18.04 m. However, soon after he suffered a serious injury and because of his convalescence he brushed 3 doping controls, which led him to be suspended by the French Federation and lost the 2014 Season. The French sports star rose to fame in the World Indoor Championship in Doha 2010, setting a new world record with 17.90 meters, a record lately improved in other 2 subsequent occasions to finally fix it at 17.92 in 2011.
