Marijuana (cannabis) Policy On December 15, 2015, the Regulation and Taxation of Marijuana Act took effect in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Act allows adults to possess and use limited quantities of marijuana (cannabis) in Massachusetts. While the recreational use of marijuana will be legal in certain spaces in Massachusetts, it’s important to understand that the law also states that “no person shall consume marijuana in a public place or smoke marijuana where smoking tobacco is prohibited.” Therefore, in compliance with Massachusetts law and Resort rules, marijuana may not be consumed (smoking, vaping or eating) in any commercial and public space at Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort, including chairlifts, lift lines or on the mountain. We also remind our guests that Massachusetts regulations (526 CMR 10.08) prohibit riding a chairlift under the influence of drugs; therefore no one may be under the influence of marijuana when riding a chairlift. Resort rules also prohibit being under the influence of drugs when skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or mountain biking at the Resort. Resort rules also prohibit smoking (including vaping) of any kind (tobacco or marijuana) on a chairlift or in a lift line, or in any condominium unit in the Jiminy Peak rental program. Underage smoking (including vaping) is not permitted at the Resort. Tobacco smoking and vaping (non-marijuana) are only permitted in designated smoking areas at the Resort. Guests violating Massachusetts law or Resort rules are subject to having their lift tickets or season passes revoked without refund, removal from the Resort, or enforcement by the Massachusetts State Police. Please respect Massachusetts’ marijuana laws and Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort’s policies during your stay. .
