Explicit Proxy: A proxy explicitly configured by a client or user system. Also known as a classic web proxy. Transparent Proxy: Proxy which is NOT explicitly configured by the client machine. Intercepting Proxy: A more intrusive version of a transparent proxy. May modify traffic. OWASP 3 When are transparent proxies used?
