Division: Open Division A Highly Commended Prize offered by 3ZZZ 92.3FM Japanese Program

Aim: The prize aims to encourage contestants of the Open Division to continue with their Japanese language learning.

Prize: The winner of this prize will be invited to appear on the 3ZZZ Japanese Program to share his/her experience of participating in the Japanese Speech Contest.

This opportunity will provide the winner with an experience of using his/her Japanese in a media broadcast.

Please note: Winners of major prizes are excluded from winning this prize.

Recipient’s responsibility: The recipient is to liaise with 3ZZZ Japanese Program group towards the arrangement of visiting 3ZZZ studio and the preparation for interview on a radio program.

Your visit to the 3ZZZ studio could prove to be your first step towards your professional career as a journalist/broadcaster in Australia or Japan (or somewhere else).

 3ZZZ is the largest ethnic station in Australia.  3ZZZ is community-based radio station, primarily financed by listener subscriptions and donations. 3ZZZ also receives government funding through the Community Broadcasting Foundation.  Up to 400 volunteers broadcast in 70 community languages.  Volunteers have opportunities to perform a range of roles: Broadcaster/Panel Operator/Group committee Member  ”Station Broadcasting Training” is available to 3ZZZ members who have been nominated for training by their language group convenors. (About 25 hours): Media Law /Program Preparation /Program Presentation /Studio Panel, etc.  There are some former 3ZZZ Japanese Program members who are working in the media industry (TV/Radio) in Japan.
