When it comes to deciding where to continue, after having invested at least 6 years in a French Immersion setting, the decision should be simple: Harry Ainlay High School’s French Immersion program is the logical choice. We offer a full French Immersion program in which all the academic core subjects are offered in French. While enhancing his or her French skills in a program in which teachers follow the success of their students, a student also benefits from all the options, clubs and sport teams a large school has to offer. The French Immersion program is, in reality, a small school within a larger one. Harry Ainlay students who complete the requirements for the continuing French Immersion and late French Immersion programs, are eligible for the district French Immersion Certificate. In addition to this certificate of accomplishment, Public Schools will also facilitate the writing of the DELF exam. This official French Language Diploma will assist students who wish to obtain international recognition of their language skills in more than 160 countries. Harry Ainlay’s French Immersion program is for students who see the learning of French as a life- time investment.

It is one of the ways we make sense of our lives, one of the ways in which we express feelings when we have no words, and a way for us to understand things with our hearts when we can't with our minds. Whatever your musical interests, we have the course for you: Symphonic Band (10 credits), providing students with sectional classes in addition to full band classes, Concert Band (5 credits), Concert Choir (5 credits), Classical Guitar (3 credits), and co-curricular courses for both instrumental and vocal jazz ensembles.

ART Inviting students to use their imagination means inviting them to see things other than the way they are. And, of course, this is what artists do; they perceive what is, but imagine what might be, and then use their knowledge, their skills and their sensibilities to pursue what they have imagined.

Theatre Arts and Dance The Theatre Arts program offers students hands-on experience in the areas of drama, performance, technical theatre, playwriting and directing. Students gain knowledge and skills in the theatre, as well as develop cooperative skills working as part of a team to create an artistic vision. Whether planning to continue in Theatre, or not, students will come away with increased confidence and an understanding of what professionalism means. Dance is a way of expressing oneself through movement. It offers people a way to experiment with a variety of movement styles while staying physically fit and having fun!
