The Seven Ranges Terminus, located west of Magnolia at the junction of Stark, Tuscarawas and Carroll Counties, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The stone surveying marker marked the completion of the first step in opening the lands northwest of the Ohio River for settlement. The county sits along one of the major overland routes from the east. The Great Trail, also known as the Tuscarawas Path, was used by Native Americans, European explorers, fur traders, missionaries, land agents and military expeditions.
