30.10.2011 12:49:18 What a day for the marathon! Wonderful performances, led by Wilson Kipsang who went so close to the world record - missing it by four seconds. Mamitu Daska also showed her quality in breaking the women's course record with the best performance of her career so far.

30.10.2011 12:37:49 Mixed fortunes for the German women: Sabrina Mockenhaupt crossed the line exhausted in 2:28:08 while Susanne Hahn finished in 2:28:49. "Mocki" lay on the ground and required medical attention. She'd hoped to improve her personal best and run around 2;24. Hahn was returning the marathon after having her first child. Both have run inside the German Olympic qualifying standard but are likely to feel very differently about their performance.
