NCAA Division I Record XHead Coach Dan Brooks owns the NCAA Division I record for most career tournament victories for a women's golf head coach - 98. He broke the record with a 27-stroke victory at the Stanford Pepsi Intercollegiate on Oct. 23, 2005. He broke Mark Gale of San Jose State's record of 91 from 1978-96.

Other Notes XDuke opened the season with a victory at the Mason Rudolph Collegiate Championship, marking the second straight year the Blue Devils have won the tournament. XAmanda Blumenherst and Jennie Lee were selected to the 2006 USA Women's World Amateur team, which took place from Oct. 18-21 at De Zalze Golf Club and Stellenbosch Golf Club in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The team finished ninth in the competition. XIn the Tar Heel Invitational, freshman Alison Whitaker was disqualified in the second round for signing for a 77 when she shot a 78. This led to Duke having to count an 86 by Jennifer Pandolfi. If this would not have happened the Blue Devils would have been down by four strokes instead of 12 heading into the final round where they lost by six. The third place finish broke a nine-year streak where Duke had won the Tar Heel Invitational. XDuke won the Hooters Collegiate Match Play as the Blue Devils knocked off South Carolina (5-0), Florida State (2-1-2), Michigan State (2-2-1) and Vanderbilt (3-2). For the Blue Devils, Alison Whitaker was 4-0, Amanda Blumenherst was 3-0-1, Jennie Lee was 3-1, Anna Grzebien was 1-2-1 and Jennifer Pandolfi was 1-2-1. Duke has now won the Hooters Collegiate Match Play all three times it has participated in 2003, 2004 and 2006.
