Scuderia Corsa Signs Veteran Racing Champions Beretta and Balzan To Helm (No.63) 458 GT3 at Laguna Seca Grand-Am Race

September 4, 2012 - Beverly Hills, California. Giacomo Mattioli and Art Zafiropoulo, owners of the racing team Scuderia Corsa, have announced that legendary ALMS champion Olivier Beretta and Italian touring car veteran will drive the No. 63 Scuderia Corsa GT3 at the September 7-9, 2012 Continental Tire Sports Car Festival. The weekend of racing will take place at the historic Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as part of the Grand Am .

This is not the first time Olivier Beretta and Scuderia Corsa are working together. At January’s Rolex , Beretta, driving the No. 63 car, managed 5th place as the first Ferrari to cross the finish line. This will be co-driver Alessandro Balzan’s first time driving with Scuderia Corsa.

Discussing the team’s upcoming weekend of racing at Laguna Seca, team principal Giacomo Mattioli said, “Having two such veterans behind the wheel of the No. 63 Ferrari 458 Grand-Am will make our team debut competitive and exciting and will no doubt give the fans an opportunity to see some great racing. Our crew has done a fantastic job in preparing the No. 63. I am also looking forward to having the kids from the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford C4 GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS

as our VIP guests for the race. Putting smiles on the faces of these seriously ill kids as they meet the team and see the cars in action is the least we can do for them and their families.”

Scuderia Corsa and Ronald McDonald House at Stanford - As part of the team’s continuing philanthropic efforts, Scuderia Corsa will be hosting 35 individuals, most of whom are children suffering serious illness and currently under care at the Ronald McDonald House at Stanford, as VIP guests. The children and their families will have the opportunity to meet the drivers and crew, visit the paddock area and enjoy the racing.
