PROSPECTORS the dirt. King’s Best, from Kingmambo’s third crop, Of the 11 runners in yesterday’s G1 St James’s won the English 2000 Guineas in Y2K. His fourth crop Palace S., what I call the European 2000 Guineas, five included two Group 1-winning colts, the ultimately were from the Danzig branch of Northern Dancer, three disappointing 2000 Grand Criterium winner (and were from the Storm Bird branch, and one (Tout Seul) champion two-year-old colt in France) Okawango; and represented Nijinsky II. That left an Indian Ridge (Irish Malhub, who appeared from nowhere to win the Golden 2000 winner Indian Haven) and the winner, the Zafonic Jubilee S. Wootton Bassett An unbeaten Gr.1-winning Champion 2yo in France, Wootton Bassett has the makings of a Champion stallion.
