Jackson or the past two years, I have been a member of the Congregational Care Team at Christ Church Deer Park, connecting with parishioners F who can no longer attend our worship services or social events on a regular basis. Initially, this ministry involved an interview with the team leader, David Moore, a vulnerable sector workshop, and a police check, none of which is nearly as ominous or difficult as it sounds. I decided to get involved with congregational care out of a desire to make more connections in our church community and in the hope of contributing something of myself to others. To me, the essence of Christianity is caring for one another, especially for members of our parish community.
