Brampton Bierlow Oct 18 BRAMPTON BIERLOW PARISH COUNCIL TON BI P ER M L A O R W B PARISHnews P A IL RI C SH COUN ISSUE No: 21 OCTOBER 2018 100 Years Remembrance Service HE PARISH COUNCIL is anticipating a large Remembrance Service event this year, following a hugely successful service in 2017, when over 100 people joined in the service at Brampton TChurch, the Parish Hall and the Parish Memorial Garden. The Reverend Carol Lacey from Brampton Church led the service. The Remembrance Parade and Service will be preceded, as is traditional, by the annual parish Over 60s party. The party will be held in the Parish Hall on 10th November from 2pm to 4- 30pm and will involve a choir service by the Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice Choir, bingo and light refreshments. The event is free to Over 60s living in the parish. People of the same age outside of the parish are welcome and are asked to make a donation of £3 which goes to the annual poppy collection. More information on all events can be found on the Parish Council's new website, www.bramptonbierlow-pc.gov.uk Parishioners are joined by the brownies at the 2017 Remembrance Service in the Memorial Garden With 2018 signifying 100 years from the end of the first world war, the Parish Council expects an even bigger attendance this year. In recognition of the milestone, the Parish Council has placed a new memorial stone in the garden, which is adjacent to the Parish Hall. The memorial stone will be dedicated during this year's service to those who lost their lives in the great war. A service takes place at Brampton Church on 11th November 2018 from 10.15am and will be followed by a parade to the Memorial Garden where, at around 11.15am, there will be a brief service and the dedication of the memorial. There will be refreshments available in the Parish Hall following the service. The Parish Council has recovered a Roll of Honour listing the names of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the war. The track, which continues to be popular with children from the area, will be subject to monthly inspections and quarterly mainte- nance by Bike Trak, who undertook upgrading work to the BMX track in 2015 and 2017. The work will also ensure a beginner track is kept in a good state of repair for use by smaller children. The new contract is expected to ensure users of all ages can enjoy the facility on an ongoing basis. Here in the Diocese of Sheffield, we are currently re-configuring stipendiary incumbency, as the priestly ministry of enabling every member of the people of God to enter the full dignity of their baptism, by playing a full part in the service of God in the whole of life. This ministry is therefore one of nurturing, developing and fostering the gifts and especially the leadership potential of others — it is a ministry of experimentation and risk-taking, of pioneering, and of sharing in the responsibility of the Bishop for the oversight of the body of Christ ‘delighting in its beauty and rejoicing in its wellbeing’. In the Dearne Valley we have a once in a generation opportunity, through a successful Strategic Development Funding bid, to invest in the future of the church as we seek to ‘transform our society and God’s world’. The post of priest of Christ Church, Brampton Bierlow is integral to this challenge and opportunity. The LAQM process places an obligation on all local authorities to regularly review and assess air quality in their areas, and to determine whether or not the air quality objectives are likely to be achieved. Where exceedences are considered likely, the local authority must then declare an Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) and prepare an Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP) setting out the measures it intends to put in place in pursuit of the objectives. Their purpose is to maintain continuity in the Local Air Quality Management process and to report progress in meeting the air quality objectives. STATUTORY INSTRUMENTS 1997 No. 624 HOUSING, ENGLAND AND WALES The Housing (Right to Acquire or Enfranchise) (Designated Rural Areas in the North East) Order 1997 Made - - - - 5th March 1997 Laid before Parliament 7th March 1997 Coming into force - - 1st April 1997 The Secretary of State for the Environment, as respects England, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 17 of the Housing Act 1996(1) and section 1AA(3)(a) of the Leasehold Reform Act 1967(2) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order— Citation and commencement 1. This Order may be cited as the Housing (Right to Acquire or Enfranchise) (Designated Rural Areas in the North East) Order 1997 and shall come into force on 1st April 1997. Designated rural areas 2. The following areas shall be designated rural areas for the purposes of section 17 of the Housing Act 1996 (the right to acquire) and section 1AA(3)(a) of the Leasehold Reform Act 1967 (additional right to enfranchise)— (a) the parishes in the districts of the East Riding of Yorkshire, Hartlepool, Middlesborough, North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees specified in Parts I, II, III, IV, V, VI and VII of Schedule 1 to this Order and in the counties of Durham, Northumberland, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Tyne and Wear and West Yorkshire specified in Parts VIII, IX, X, XI,
