Join a nation-wide community reading to support youth

Event: I Am Jazz Community Reading Date: February 28, 2019 Time: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Location: Durham District School Board Education Centre, 400 Taunton Road East, Whitby, ON Audience: 45 Early Years students from kindergarten to Grade 2 Preferred Media Time: 1:00 pm

On February 28th educators and allies across Canada will stand in solidarity with transgender students by hosting the 2nd annual school and community readings of the children’s book I Am Jazz. The book was written by transgender teen trailblazer Jazz Jennings and Jessica Herthel. The book offers Jazz’s account of what it’s like to be a .

I Am Jazz is used by Durham District School Board schools and families to help young children understand transgender youth and adults. This event is intended to foster safe and welcoming schools and communities for young people.

Arrangements can be made in advance or on-site for interviews and/or photo opportunities.
