An Introduction From the Editor

In June 1999, the leadership of the Evangelical Philosophical Society had the pleasure of presenting the first issue of Philosophia Christi, Series 2. Given that many new journals do not make it past the very first issue, it is perhaps with even greater pleasure that we present our second! As was recently highlighted in a newsletter to the EPS membership, our subscription rolls have more than doubled since June 1999 and will likely double again in 2000. Based on circulation, quality, and relevance, Philosophia Christi is quickly becoming one of the primary vehicles for scholarly discourse at the interface of philosophy, religion and related disciplines. One obvious and significant advance since our first issue has been the exquisite work of our new book review editor J. P. Moreland from the Talbot School of . He has put together a network of reviewers in all of the key fields of philosophy. As you will see from this issue his work has already paid off with a set of reviews by top scholars that are timely and on the cutting-edge of the discipline. It is our goal to continue to expand our book review section. Hence, if you would like to participate and have a book in mind for review, please contact Prof. Moreland with your idea (see inside back cover). Along with the increase in attention that the journal has been receiving, has come an increase in first-rank submissions of articles and philosophical notes. Not surprisingly, we therefore have a pressing need for knowledge- able referees for these submissions. If you are a professional scholar and a member of the EPS, I invite you to join us in this important work by con- tacting me in the very near future to join our editorial review board. One last thing, if you have not already done so, please contact your local college or university library and encourage them to subscribe to Philosophia Christi. EPS president, William Lane Craig, has made an increase in the number of library subscriptions a top priority for the coming year and we all see it as a pivotal way to continue the momentum that has been gained in recent months.

Wishing you all a blessed New Year.
