NOTES: The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) is looking for nonprofits and/or social enterprises to provide workforce development and training opportunities for residents in the Bayview, Hunters Point, and Potrero Hill neighborhoods. One million dollars of grant funding is available over the next three years to prepare District 10 residents for permanent, living-wage paying jobs in green sectors like horticulture, urban agriculture, and food services. The goal of the grant program is to support the resiliency of the Bayview community by advancing the SFPUC’s environmental justice policy and creating pathways to high quality jobs for individuals facing barriers to employment. Through the grant program, a review panel of community members and SFPUC staff will select up to four nonprofits or social enterprises for three years of funding to provide green sector training and job placement for residents.
