« ERASMUS - HERITAGE VOLUNTEERS and LEADERS, Give everyone access to Heritage » is a project initiated by REMPART and XXX European partners. It will take place in France from May 1st 2018 to April 30th 2020 on 10 heritage site placed under the patronage of the Union REMPART which is a Youth and popular Education Association dedicated to the safeguard of the heritage. The aim of the project is to involve close to 160 young European, and youth workers in a total of 8 youth exchange ERASMUS HERITAGE VOLUNTEERS and 2 training ERASMUS HERITAGE LEADERS in 2018 and 2019. The dynamic offered by the European Year of Culturel Heritage must be valorized by our organizations to facilitate the commitment of young people to the heritage cause, being established that heritage is a tangible and concrete base for exchanges and Europe. From the monastic heritage in to the Coucy massive fortress destroyed during the XXth century conflicts, the heritage landmarks chosen to host the activities will allow to discuss the european heritage diversity and to implement various heritage mediation methods in order to convey the message that heritage is everyone’s business. Each exchange will involve 3 to 4 european partners and will take place on a site managed by a local REMPART association. It will focus on workshops allowing the improvement of the sites, but will also be based on discussions aiming at raising awareness on the European values through heritage, some practical restoration activities, and the use of a participative facilitation toolkit on the diversity of the cultural heritage named OUR HERITAGE. The expertise gathered by our organizations will enrich the 2 trainings ERAMUS HERITAGE LEADERS, which aim at encouraging new leaders to take action in the future, echoing this moto chosen by the EU Commission in 2018 “Our heritage : where the past meets the future”.At the end of the program, in order to disseminate the inputs and valorize the exchanges, a common tool HERITAGE HERITAGE LEADERS will be edited on the pedagogy of voluntary actions on heritage, doubled with an online tool where resources such as the toolkit OUR HERITAGE will be freely accessible. ERASMUS HERITAGE VOLUNTEERS and LEADERS is already labeled by the French Ministry of Culture and Communication (as the whole REMPART mission) in the frame of the “European Year of Cultural Heritage”. 2 - PARTNERS FRANCE HUNGARY
