Our history

S.A.M. SpA was founded in 1952 in Monforte d’Alba (CN) where it began working in the road building field. In 1970 the company moved to Alba and extended its activity in road paving with the acquisition of a production plant for asphalt conglomerates. Over the years, the company has further expanded with investments in plants, equipment and quarries exploitation. In 2012 the company headquarters moved in Roreto di (CN) where a new plant for the production of bituminous conglomerates has been started. This plant, equipped with the best available technologies, is located in an area of high strategic value and allows S.A.M. SpA to strengthen its presence and operations capability. Over the years the company has extended its activity to building sector: civil and industrial constructions, school buildings, retirement homes construction.

Alba production site

Here, S.A.M. SpA owns a plant for the production of bituminous conglomerate with a productivity of 120 tons/h as well as a wide area for the storage of materials and equipment.

Roreto di Cherasco production site

The company headquarters are located in the industrial area at the crossing of the A6 Torino-Savona and A33 Asti-Cuneo highways. Here, a new plant for the production of bituminous conglomerates - a Marini (Fayat Group) Top Tower 3000 model – was installed few years ago. Equipped with the best available technologies and with an hourly output of 200 ton/h, the plant allows the production of any bituminous mixture, with hot and cold technology and with the possibility of recycling milled materials. Furthermore, thanks to the partnership with LEA®- CO France, S.A.M. SpA is the first company on the Italian market to produce and sell, with a license for Italy, the half-warm asphalt mixture with EBE (Enrobé a Basse Energie – low energy mix) technology. This is an innovative system for the production of asphalt concrete at low temperatures (90 – 95°C) with the introduction of wet sand and foaming process, which guarantees high performance products that are at the same time cutting edge products in environmental protection. Moreover, using “albino bitumen”, conveyed into a dedicated line, the plant can produce transparent and colored conglomerates to satisfy any design requirement. A production line for the crushing and the screening of milled waste, to be re-used in production, efficiently completes the equipment of the plant. Within the site there is also an area for storage and salvage of non-dangerous waste from excavation and demolition works. Lastly, here we own a 160 ton/h CIFA plant for the production of cement mixtures using materials from quarries or reclaimed materials. With this settlement, S.A.M. SpA proposes itself as an innovative competitor in the construction market adopting a new concept of sustainability in the production of road materials through:

Chromasphalt coloured asphalt

S.A.M. Spa produces, thanks to the technology installed in the Roreto di Cherasco plant, a wide range of colored asphalts suitable for a great variety of requirements. Our colored asphalts have been developed with the aim of adapting asphalt conglomerates to modern needs in architectural designs and for environmental sustainability. They are an optimal solution in any case where a good visual impact is required (better than with traditional black asphalts) and a greater harmonization with the surrounding landscape is needed. Using albino asphalt (obtained through a decoloration process), conglomerates can be produced so as to enhance the natural color of the aggregates, or, by adding specific pigments, to obtain the desired colors.

Our colored asphalts are particularly suitable for:

• Squares, car parks, private roads and driveways • Pedestrian areas • Cycle paths, reserved lanes, sidewalks, renovations in old towns areas • Park driveways and golf pathways

Our products are an effective substitute to stone paving, in terms of cost advantage and of the higher speed in execution, while they are an ultimate better option to concrete interlocking pavers, since they require a lot less time to be executed, they have a better aesthetic result and a greater performance in terms of driving conditions (for cars, but also for forklifts etc).
