Hello fellow quilters and welcome to our term 3 newsletter. Term 2 has yet again been a very busy time for us. In between our classes and customers, we have been kept very busy cutting and packing block of the months. Just when you think you are on top of them, along comes another and you start all over again. Have a look inside at our new BOM ‘Timeless Tradition’. This is a stunning made completely with batiks. Another BOM starting mid August is ’Vintage Teddies’ designed by Libby Richardson which we are now taking registrations with a $10 deposits. Full information for both of these beautiful quilt can be seen inside. We are excited with our plans for our ‘Inspire, , Dream’ retreat in October and everything's coming together nicely. All the details for this years retreat are on the back page of the newsletter. We would love to see you there. The plans are already in progress for 2019 and the venue has been rebooked for next year. We have begun chatting to designers for next year and really over the moon with a designer who is already locked in. We were the invited shop to attend the Quilters’ Guild AGM meeting in May with Jen running our pop up shop while I demonstrated the art of foundation piecing. It was a lovely night and congratulation to Chris O’Brien as the newly elected president of the Guild. In June Jen and I flew over to Sydney (our old home town) to attend a wedding of our drear friends daughter Jessica to Jeremy. It’s always lovely to see friends and family. Before the wedding we popped in and surprised Jen’s mum and dad. The look on her mum’s face and huge cuddle was priceless and worth the journey. Sunday was our free day and we drove up to Newcastle to see my mum which was also a surprise. Her tears of happiness were heart warming. Earlier this year in March we held a fundraising event called Stitch with Rosie. We are proud to announce that the total raised and now donated to ‘Love My Sister’ was $2487.45 We would like to say thank you to everyone who helped us reach this amazing amount. We will be holding another fundraising night in October with plenty of stitching and laughs. This year funds raised will be donating to ‘Love My Sister’ The Adelaide Stitching and Handcraft Show is on again this year and is being held on 7th - 9th July at Wayville. We will have our shop there and you can find us on Stand S105. We hope that you can attend. This will be the only craft fair in Adelaide this year. On 2nd July Jen and I celebrated 11 years since we purchased By Sea. Unbelievable where have those years gone. Time flies when you are having fun. We hope that where ever you may be, you have a wonderful day. Hugz Jen & Terry

Workshops and photos are shown on pages 4 & 5 New Block of the Months Vintage Teddies is designed by the talented Libby Richardson and features a family of gorgeous appliqued teddies. This BOM is expected to start mid August. We have picked a lot of the applique fabrics and we are now finalising the fabrics that we will be using for the basis of the quilt. Vintage Teddies will be run over 10 month and as we are still finalising details, we expect it to sell for approximately $44 per month including postage. There will also be a thread and embellishment pack to be purchase in month 1. We are now taking registrations and you can secure your Vintage Teddies by paying a $10 deposit which will be deducted from your first months payment when it is ready to be posted out. Timeless Tradition. This BOM runs over 9 months and sell for $49 per month plus postage. Made with a variety of 12" pieced and applique blocks, set on point with accent stars surrounded by 6" pieced blocks, all finished off with an beautiful applique border. The finished size of the quilt is 90" x 90" although there are instructions included to make 2 smaller sizes, 78" square or 78"x90" Please note that the photo shown of the full quilt is the original quilt and is not the fabrics we are supplying. Our quilt is the photo on the left and is still a work in progress, needing the extra applique borders and the main borders added. Like the original, our fabrics are all batiks.
