9 Museum of Science Overnighters

Discover Science in an entertaining, educational and interactive way through hands on science activities.

This event is for Cub Scouts their Parent/Adult chaperones and Scout aged sibling ( with a guardian).

The extraordinary, exploratory overnight adventure will keep you from going from dusk 'til dawn! The program includes and opening welcome, and instructor-led workshop, instructor-led hands-on science activities, and presentations in the Mugar Omni Theater and the Charles Hayden Planetarium. You will receive an exact schedule of events when you arrive. Adults are encouraged to participate in all overnight activities!

10 Camp Norse September 27-29, 2019

American Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid is a 16 hour course designed to teach individuals how to deal with emergency situations by using first aid skills in a delayed help environment.

• For Scouters 18 years of age or older. • CPR certification is required prior to the W&RFA course

11 NOAC 2020 – National Conference August 3rd - August 8th 2020 at Michigan State University

In 2020 the Order of the Arrow will celebrate the National Order of the Arrow Conference ( NOAC). NOAC is an awesome event attended by Arrowmen from all over the country. During NOAC attendees will have the opportunity to attend a wide range of training, outdoor adventure & activities, nightly shows, patch trading an much more.

Estimated cost for NOAC 2020 is $1,600. This includes the NOAC conference fee, food, lodging and round trip transportation to NOAC.

12 Summit 2020 Leaders 7/19 – 7/25/2020

The Narragansett Council is looking for adult volunteers to lead a contingent of Scouts to the Summit in 2020. Our Council contingent will be participating in the

SUMMIT EXPERIENCE.

This program includes: a half day in every onsite high adventure program area at the Summit Bechtel Reserve. Shooting, Archery, BMX, Skateboarding, Canopy Tours, Rock Climbing, High Ropes Course, Mountain Biking, service project and Lake activities. A 1/2 rafting trip can be substituted for our lake activities at an additional cost.

Camp Champlin: October 5th Camp Norse: November 9th Scouting for Food

For over 30 consecutive years, Scouters have come together to help foodbanks feed the hungry in our communities, Through 2018 more than 9.5 million pounds of food have been collected through your good turn efforts.

By participating in this Scouting for Food Good Turn, together, we in the Narragansett Council can show our communities and our Scouts that we haven’t forgotten the principles that have made the Strong.

15 Webelos Woods Camp Norse September 20th – 22nd

This camp is designed to introduce WEBELOS to the many outdoor adventures of Scouting.

This WICKED AWESOME weekend includes patrol method camping and Scout activities.

16 Beyond the Basics Camporee – Backpacking Campout

• Learn the fundamentals of how to backpack and how to prepare for a trek.

• Start the backpacking Merit Badge – we will cover backpack requirements 1-9 and 11a

• Check in Friday night and stay Saturday night if you are camping with your unit.

• We will have experienced experts in EMT/ Wilderness Emergency Medicine, LNT and Backpackers to teach skills and share their experiences.

17 Campmaster Training at Cub World

Calling all registered ADULT Scouters.

We will be holding our CAMPMASTER Training this September at Cub World where you can obtain your campmaster certification.

Campmaster training is needed along with individual camp orientation and serving two weekends with a certified/experienced campmaster to obtain council campmaster certification.

18 Operation Be Prepared Weekend at Yawgoog

Join us for the annual “Operation Be Prepared Weekend” hosted by Yawgoog Scout Reservation. This event is geared for Leaders who need to be certified and Scouts who need to earn either First Aid, Search and Rescue or Emergency Preparedness Merit Badges.

Earn and learn at the same time. This is your chance to earn badges and spend the weekend with fellow Scouters and train together. October 4-6th, 2019

19 WEBELOS-O-REE AT YAWGOOG

Webelos-O-Ree is a first chance for Webelos to camp with the Scouts!

This event is for WEBELOS Scouts and their adult partner(s). This event is also for Scouts BSA members participating with their Troop.

This awesome weekend event includes patrol- method camping and Scout activities. Webelos will visit skill stations where Troops will be teaching basic Scout skills.

20 Leave No Trace Trainer Course

The Leave No Trace course is for everyone age 14 & older who will teach Leave No Trace to others. LNT is integrated into every Scouting Program, every Pack, Troop, Team, Crew and Ship should have a LNT Trainer.

Participants learn LNT principles, skills and ethics through a combination of presentation, discussion and hands-on activities.

21 Construction Camporee Cross or Drop – Duct Tape Engineering Weekend

Ever wonder what you can create with duct tape? Have fun at this Camporee earning the ENGINEERING Merit Badge and building a duct tape bridge. Scouts will work together and learn life long engineering skills while having fun at camp!
