Registered in Scotland Welcome I personally know Seamab to be an exceptional organisation, with truly dedicated staff doing a job that few of us could contemplate and I'm pleased that we're able to help them. The second is The Polar Academy as recommended by Keith Neilson. It works with secondary school children who are lacking in confidence and trains them for an expedition to Arctic Greenland. These young people learn that no adversity or challenge is too big, and use their experience to act as role models to others. I have always felt that our guests at The Shoot The Shoot is supporting an initiative to ensure are like an extended family. C001967_adam_developer_ad_shoot_210x210_260618_V1.indd 1 26/06/2018 14:22 The Shoot Charities Built in the grounds of NHS cancer hospitals, Maggie’s Centres are places of great support to cancer patients and their families. Professional staff are on hand to help both patients and carers who are facing the tough questions, exhausting treatments and difficult emotions that cancer can bring. The first Maggie’s Centre opened in 1996 and there are now 21 centres across the UK. Last year Maggie's welcomed over 200,000 visitors and that number is expected to increase substantially over the next three years. JDRF is the type 1 diabetes research charity for funding and coordinating ground breaking clinical studies around the world, including projects in Dundee and Edinburgh. More than 30,000 people in Scotland live with the condition and numbers are increasing at a rate of about 4% each year, particularly in children under five. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease and cannot be prevented. JDRF is working to capitalise further on Scotland’s expertise in biotech and life science sectors in order to find the cure. Seamab is a residential school located in Kinross-shire. It provides specialist, intensive care for Scotland's most vulnerable children. It believes that children can heal, grow and learn, even when they have experienced severe trauma, neglect and loss. Each child is supported by a truly dedicated group of adults, who help them to regain trust in others. Our support will help them to develop the school's facilities. The Polar Academy works with secondary school pupils who are constrained by a lack of self-esteem. It gives them the chance to redefine their physical and mental limits by taking part in rigorous training and a 10 day polar expedition in Greenland. The Shoot is supporting the development of a Polar Academy legacy programme, helping young people build their confidence and act as role models to others. HorseBack UK aims to inspire and promote positive change through the delivery of therapy programmes using horsemanship. It works with serving or former military personnel and disengaged school pupils, all of whom are suffering from physical injuries, mental illness or are vulnerable in other ways. We will be helping them expand their support with young people in the local area. Competition Prizes Our categories are once more Rookies, Half Shots and Game Shots, with prizes and trophies awarded for the Top Gun, Top Team and Top Flush team in each category. There’s also the trophy for the Top Flypast, which can be from any category, and Top Lady. With a record number of ladies taking part this year, that's one to watch. My challenge to everyone this year, however, is to clean The Flush. In 16 years no one has ever scored full marks and it’s about time it happened. Hello and welcome to the 17th Shoot. We have a great competition lined up Have fun, meet new friends and good for you, loaded with action. shooting everyone.
