Criteria for serious criminal cases 1. Offence for which maximum punishment is MLAs with Serious Criminal Cases: 35 (17%) MLAs had declared serious criminal cases against themselves. of 5 years or more. Party wise MLAs with Criminal Cases: 36(32%) out of 114 MLAs from Indian National Congress (INC), 13 (33%) 2. If an offence is non-bailable out of 40 MLAs from Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), 11 (31%) out of 35 MLAs from JD(S), 1(25%) out of 4 MLAs from KJP, 3. If it is an electoral offence (for eg. IPC 171E or bribery) 1(33%) out of 3 MLAs from BSRC, 1(100%) out of 1 MLA from SP, 1(100%) out of 1 MLA from KMP and 4(44%) out of 4.
