The congress "European Defence – Berlin Conference on Defence Policy" is an multinational specialized conference for international security. Main topics are the European security and defence policy, transatlantic relations, new develop- ments in military engineering as well as the international crisis management and the fight against terrorism. Every year the conference is a meeting place for experts of MoDs, armed forces, parliamentarians and delegates of national governments and European institutions, the ministries and the industry. More than 1.300 experts from more than 60 nations take part in the conference for two days. The "Behörden Spiegel", Germany’s leading newspaper for civil and military services, as well as the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence of the European Parlia- ment organize this congress and bring along the competence necessary for such a meeting.
