Nearly $10 million in purses were awarded, including $3 million on PA Derby Day, which featured an exciting rematch between Will Take Charge and Moreno, who had been separated by just a nostril in the Travers Stakes (G1) one month ago. Also on Derby Day were a sensational performance in the G1 Cotillion, the $300,000 Gallant Bob, and inductions for three horses and four celebrated horsemen into the Parx Hall of Fame. Throughout the rest of the Festival, Pennsylvania horsemen were rewarded for their dedication to our state: the PA Horse Breeders’ Association sponsored PA Day at the Races, while the PTHA thanked owners with our annual Owner’s Appreciation Day.
