 O Come O Come Emmanuel Every Advent season, O Come, O Come Emmanuel is sung in CELEBRATING parishes throughout the world. Each verse for this is based ADVENT on one of the O , which are rooted in imagery from the Old Testament. are used at Evening prayer in the Liturgy 2020 of the Church from 17 -23 December. They are called the O Antiphons because the title of each one begins with O and then a

title for Christ. Each is a name of Christ, one of his attributes mentioned in Scripture. They are:  17 December: O Sapientia (O Wisdom)  18 December: O Adonai (O Lord)
