Finalists- WICKED Recycling competition Our very talented grade 1/2A and 1/2B were both finalists in the Shire of Campaspe Wicked Waste Recycling Competition. Both classes made posters to highlight the importance of recycling in our local area. The winner was announced at a ceremony at the Echuca library. Although we didn’t win the students did a great job and should be very proud of the work that they produced. Thank you to Mr Gray, Miss Watson, River Sims and Ella Graham who attended the award ceremony and represented our school. Thank you also to Wendy Sims who encouraged our students to enter.

The Moon is a Balloon On Friday 20th May the Junior Department travelled to Bendigo to watch a perform- ance called ‘The Moon is a Balloon’ at the Ulumbarra Theatre. It was a fantastic show and all of the students really enjoyed it. Thanks to Jenny for organizing it and Kochy and Dusty for driving us there. Thank you! A big thanks to Ian Haines who entered LCS in a footy photo competition which earned the school $250 to go towards our footy program. We have purchased much needed new footballs.

Enrolments 2017 It seems crazy to be talking about 2017 already! We are having our 2017 information session next Thursday 2nd June at 12.30pm everyone is welcome to attend. SILENT VOICES ENTERTAIN SENIORS

We had at our April meeting a lovely group of clients, called “Silent Voices”, from Murray Human Services. Eight clients with two carers entertained us. Under the instruction of Lisa they sign language quite a few songs which was immensely enjoyed by all and it was great to see their wonderful talent and how much they enjoyed entertaining us. On conclusion of their performance we gave each of them some homemade biscuits. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with them prior to their departure back to Echuca. Dot Pearse, Secretary Lockington Senior Citizens.
