Le Jardin Exotique d’Eze, aménagé dans les ruines d’une forteresse médiévale, abrite une collection botanique dédiée aux plantes succulentes originaires de plusieurs conti- nents et notamment d’Amérique centrale. Les plantes succulentes emmagasinent le suc pour résister à la sécheresse. On les rencontre dans les endroits les plus arides de la planète, dans les lieux soumis à de longues périodes sans précipitation : cactus, aloès, agaves et autres plantes surprenantes comme la plante dragée, Aeonium arboreum aux rosettes noires. Un parcours thématique permet de se familiariser avec ces plantes, de les reconnaître et de découvrir l’histoire et les légendes des lieux. Le Jardin Exotique est aussi le lieu privilégié pour s’imprégner de l’atmosphère de la Côte d’Azur. Les sculptures de Jean-Philippe Richard sont disposées le long des sentiers. Depuis le sommet à 429 m. d’altitude on domine un panorama exceptionnel sur la Méditerranée, jusqu’à Saint-Tropez. Par temps clair, il est possible d’apercevoir la Corse. Sur la partie nord, un jardin méditerranéen est aménagé, avec ses grottes et sa cascade, ses végé- taux de la garrigue provençale, agrémenté d’espaces de détente et de méditation ainsi que de fontaines pour se rafraîchir et se désaltérer. Enfin, la partie ouest du jardin, appelée également « espace Zen », abrite des transats, cascades et vue sur la mer. C’est un espace propice au calme et à la quiétude. The Exotic Garden of Eze is located high above the sea at the top of the medieval ruins of Eze Village. A wide variety of succulent plants from various continents and Central America are displayed. Plants such as cacti, aloes and agaves are able to store water in their leaves and stems to combat the dry conditions of their habitat. These plants are from the most arid places on the earth. The tour through the garden is planned to reveal its history and legends. The Exotic Garden is also the privileged place to soak up the atmosphere of the French Riviera. Sculptures of Jean-Phi- lippe Richard are also exhibited along the paths. From this high vantage point of 1400 ft. you have spectacular views across the Mediterranean sea to Italy, down on the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, on to Nice and St. Tropez. On a clear day, you can even see Corsica ! On the north side, a Mediterranean garden is built, with its caves and cascade, its plants from the Provencal guarrigue, with pleasant relaxation and meditation areas, as well as fountains to cool down or quench your thirst. Finally, the western part of the garden, also called "Zen space", has sunbeds, waterfalls and sea view. It is an area conducive to calm and zen moment.

Il Giardino Esotico di Eze, tratto dalle rovine di una fortezza medievale, ospita una colle- zione botanica dedicata alle piante succulente provenienti dai diversi continenti e prevalentemente dall’Ame- rica centrale. Le piante succulente immagazzinano il succo per resistere alla siccità. Si ritrovano nei posti più aridi del pianeta, e in quelli esposti a lunghi periodi di secco : cactus, aloe, agavi e altre sorprendenti piante come l’Eonio arboreo o Aenium arboreum dalle rosette nere. Seguendo un percorso tematico i visita- tori possono scoprirle, poi riconoscerle e, infine, apprendere la storia e le leggende del luogo. Il Giardino Esotico è altresì un luogo privilegiato dove impregnarsi dell’atmos- fera della Costa Azzurra. I sentieri sono fiancheggiati dalle sculture di Jean-Phil- lippe Richard. Dalla cima, a un’altitudine di 429 m., si gode di un’eccezionale vista panoramica sul Mediterraneo e fino a Saint-Tropez. Quando fa bello, si riesce persino a intravedere la Corsica ! Nella parte nord è stato allestito un giar- dino mediterraneo con le sue grotte e una cascata, la gariga provenzale e le sue piante, cosparso di oasi di distenzione e di meditazione, e di fontane per rinfrescarsi e dissetarsi. Infine, la parte ovest del giardino, chiamato anche "spazio Zen", propone dei lettini, cascate, e vista sul mare. È un spazio propizio alla calma ed al rilassamento.
