2012 WEST INDIES TOUR

www.astsports.com.au WINDIES TOUR 2012

An invitation from Merv Hughes

After a four year break, I can’t wait to get back to the Caribbean with AST. This will be my fourth time in the Windies with AST over the last 10 years, and I’m looking forward to this more than ever. Since visiting the West Indies as a player in the early 90s, I have loved the place. The people are friendly, easy going, cricket mad and know how to enjoy themselves – just like me! They have some of the best beaches in the world and each island has its own soul and culture that makes it a little different. Having hosted over 20 tours with AST, you can be assured you are with the best in the busi- ness. The Caribbean can be a challenging destination at times, but with AST you know that your accommodation, sightseeing, functions, and most importantly, match tickets – have been expertly organised. I’m especially looking forward to seeing this new era of Australian cricket with Michael Clarke at the helm and a batch of young stars in the team. The West Indies have some explosive cricketers of their own, and the team always lifts a notch with a passionate home crowd. The Windies cricket atmosphere is like nothing else in world cricket, something that you will never forget. It’s great catching up with old on-field sparring partners over there and living the relaxed life- style for which the Caribbean is famous. I look forward to welcoming you on tour and taking you to some of my favorite watering holes. Caribbean beaches... Calypso Cricket

Australian Sports Tours is proud to invite you on tour to the West Indies in March/April 2012. We love the West Indies and can’t wait to get back there for the first time since 2008. St Lucia and are perennial favourites - white sandy beaches, buzzing beach bars and friendly, cricket mad locals. We loved St Kitts so much last time that we’ve decided to return for a short relaxing break between matches to give you a taste of a hid- den Caribbean gem. We’re also excited to visit rare venues in Trinidad and Guyana for the first time since 2003. Off the tourist path, each offers a differ- ent Caribbean experience – Trinidad with its proud culture and fanatical cricket fans, and Guyana, with its natural wonders and the only Test Match venue on mainland South America. The Windies has been a happy hunting ground for Australia hav- ing the better of the Test Series in 2003 and 2008, and taking home the in 2007. We’ve been there for all of them and seen some hard fought cricket, perhaps none more memora- ble than the West Indies world record run chase of 418 in the final Test at Antigua in 2003. It’s exciting times for Australian cricket, with a new era under Michael Clarke and some exciting young tyros keen to cement their place in the team. It will make for some fascinating duels with the West Indies young guns including Darren Bravo, who has put the world on notice with his arrival on the international cricket stage. We look forward to welcoming you aboard for some riveting cricket, as well as a good dose of easy going fun and relaxation for which the Caribbean is famous. See you at the cricket!
