DSU travels to Memphis, Tenn., to take on the Lady Bucs (5-12, 2-7 GSC). The NONCONFERENCE Lady Statesmen defeated Christian Brothers 60-50 to open Gulf South Conference play on December 1. 11/12/2012 Selma University W, 99-37 w Delta State, who owns the league record with 15 conference championships, continues league play with an amazing 670-135 GSC record. 11/16/2012 vs. Clayton State University L, 51-68 w Delta State enters this week leading the GSC in scoring at 67.4 points per game and boast the top field goal percentage with a 41.2 11/17/2012 vs. Brevard College W, 87-72 average. The Lady Statesmen have topped 90 points twice, including wins over Selma (99-37) and Stillman (90-54). 11/20/2012 Tuskegee University W, 72-53 w The Lady Statesmen have been a defense-first program for the last 10 years and coach Midlick has kept the tradition rolling this season, 11/23/2012 Stillman College W, 90-54 as DSU is allowing opponents just 56.8 points and 36.4 percent shooting per game this season. Opponents are managing just 30.0 12/1/2012 Christian Brothers University* W, 60-50 percent from 3-point range as well. 12/15/2012 @ Stillman College W, 64-37 w Freshman guard Chelsey Rhodes is making an immediate impact on the Lady Statesmen this season. The Monticello, Ark., native is 12/17/2012 @ Tuskegee University L, 61-65 averaging 12.2 points per game, which is good for 11th in the GSC. She also leads the GSC in 3-point FG% at 42.0 percent on 29-of-69 12/29/2012 @ Ouachita Baptist University L, 72-75 3-pointers made. w Junior guard Brooke Rhodes has turned her scoring average up in GSC play, as the Pelahatchie, Miss., native is averaging 10.0 points per GULF SOUTH CONFERENCE game, 17th in the GSC. She is also pulling down a career-high 5.6 rebounds per game for the Lady Statesmen. 1/3/2013 @ Union University (Tenn.)* W, 77-67 w Sophomore center Seneca Walton leads the Lady Statesmen in scoring (13.4) and rebounds (8.0) per game through the first 17 games 1/5/2013 University of North Alabama* L, 58-59 of the season.
