IDC MONKEYSHORTS DVOB One Sheet MONKEYSHORTS - Day View Owl Bum CD Cat# KSP001 IDC Cat #0563 The debut album from eclectic folk-punk band MONKEYSHORTS. Recorded in Seattle at the world-famous birthplace of grunge London Bridge Studio. Co-produced by Justin Davis (Queensrÿche, Candlebox) – Mastered by Geoff Ott (Death Cab for Cutie, Alice in Chains). This however is not a grunge rock record, though Queensrÿche’s drums were used in the recording process. Day View Owl Bum is more like a roller-coaster ride through musical genres with fun, sometimes raunchy, but always humorous lyrics on such topics as traveling, romance, animals, your usual fare. Day View Owl Bum features a bluegrassy cover of Nine Inch Nails “Closer” complete Check out more from with tin whistle solo. The biggest crowd-pleaser on the record is the punk-pop ditty MONKEYSHORTS @ “Platypus” owning to the fact that there’s an odd and somewhat dangerous beast monkeyshorts.com lurking inside all of us. Day View Owl Bum starts out with “Tickle My Toes” featuring Tamara Power-Drutis (Phinney Estate). This song makes people laugh, cry, cum. True story. We even had to leave the room to give her some privacy. Must be the Track Listing strings. Other favorites are “How’s Your Day?”, “Dinky”, “Biggest Fan” and the rest of the album. One fan called MONKEYSHORTS “the [adult swim] of music.” You will 1) Tickle My Toes most certainly agree. 2) Platypus 3) Dinky MONKEYSHORTS includes founding members King Masaabuu, Patter, and Patches 4) Let's Be Neighbors plus several world-class musicians: vocalist/flutist Michelle Nikisch (The Jacksons, 5) Biggest Fan Smokey Robinson, Celine Dion); bassist/keyboardist/beatboxer DJ Stephen Hogan 6) Closer (OneRepublic, Blake Lewis); trumpeter/accordionist Sunshine Applebeard (Super 7) The Road to Alabama Geek League); violinist Michael Watson (Barry Manilow, Linda Ronstadt); 8) Sturgis Valley percussionist Brandon Foster (Fleur Jack); and drummer Morgan Smith (Sammy 9) Beatrice Be My Mistress Steele Band). 10) Chew'd on-n Sumthin' Hokey Similar artists: Beck; Tenacious D; The Presidents of the United States of America; 11) I Live in a Zoo Talking Heads; They Might Be Giants; OK Go; XTC; Harry Nilsson; Frank Zappa 12) How's Your Day? 13) Kick Me (Round) Novel tunes for novel times… 14) The Perfect Limerick (Tribute) “The lowly and underappreciated platypus is excellent subject matter for a song.” 15) Oh Nantucket ~ Dave Dederer (guitarist, The Presidents of the United States of America) “This one’s going to be a hit…” (Starts singing) “…Let’s be neighbors.” File Under: ~ Geoff Ott (producer, 3 Doors Down) Indie Rock “The drums sound great—nice intonation, very dynamic.” ~ Gene Trautmann (drummer, Queens of the Stone Age) “I just listened to all your songs & really liked them, especially the one about tickling.” ~ Christina Antipa (indie singer-songwriter) For more information, or to place an order with IDC, visit us on the web @ www.independentdistro.com or fax orders to (415) 292-5007. The pair filmed a trio of episodes with Mr. Show’s David Cross and Bob Odenkirk, and although the first episode didn’t set the world on fire when it aired in 1997 - HBO neglected to broadcast the other two until 2000 - Tenacious D’s act contributed to the steadily growing cult around the “band’s” brash frontman, and when they finally got around to releasing their debut LP in 2001, it cracked the Top 40 and paved the way for their big-screen debut, 2003’s Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, co-starring Ronnie James Dio as himself and Dave Grohl as Satan. 3/5/2020 Jack Black Biography - life, family, children, parents, name, history, school, mother, young World Biography (../in… / A-Ca (index.html) / Jack Black Biogra… Jack Black Biography April 7, 1969 • Santa Monica, California Actor, singer, musician Black, Jack. AP/Wide World Photos. Reproduced by permission. Jack Black is a one-man dynamo—a manic, scruffy ball of energy who has quietly been shaking up the entertainment world for years. Acting steadily since the mid-1990s, Black usually took on smaller roles that were usually quirky, but always unforgettable. He also became one-half of a comedy rock duo called Tenacious D, which played regularly in small comedy clubs in California. As a result, Black developed a cult following of fans, who watched and waited for him to break out as a star. In 2003 fans got their wish, when Black skidded onto the screen as rocker-turned-teacher Dewey Finn in the blockbuster School of Rock. Almost overnight, Jack Black became a household name. Product of rocket science Jack Black was born April 7, 1969, in Santa Monica, California, to Tom and Judy Black, both satellite engineers. In a 2003 Newsweek interview with Devin Gordon, Black admitted it was ironic that both his parents were rocket scientists. He also put a Jack Black spin on the situation: "They're rocket scientists. I'm a rock scientist." While Black was growing up his parents fought constantly, which finally led them to divorce when he was ten years old. The separation had a profound effect on Black. In search of attention, he turned to acting.
