Heading to the Festival? What To Know Before You Go

(Pemberton, BC) ~ With the only a week away, the festival site is coming to life as tents, trucks and stages arrive daily. Here is some key information for festivalgoers and locals to know before folks arrive and the first bands take the stage.

PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE INSTALLATION: A key piece of the traffic management plan is a pedestrian bridge that will be installed across Highway 99, keeping traffic flowing on the highway and providing a safe, vehicle-free crossing for attendees. • The bridge will be installed on the evening of Thursday, July 10. • Expect traffic slowdowns during installation from 8:00pm to 3:00am. • A brief Highway 99 road closure will be required when lifting the overpass sections into place. The closure is anticipated between 1:00am and 3:00am and will last approximately 30 to 40 minutes. • Traffic control personnel will be on-site to instruct and inform drivers of the closure.

TICKET TO WRISTBAND EXCHANGE: Pemberton locals-only ticket holders can exchange their tickets for a festival wristband at The Meadows at Pemberton golf club on Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13. If local ticket holders can’t make this date, then wristband exchange is available at the on-site main festival box office from Thursday, July 17 onward.

WHAT TO BRING: The festival website outlines what you can and can’t bring with you. Plan ahead to make your arrival smooth and easy. Visit www.pembertonmusicfestival.com/faqs and then start packing. Tip from a local: put sunscreen at the top of your list.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SPEED REDUCTION: The area around the festival is a busy place and getting busier. To support driver, pedestrian and cyclist safety, Highway 99 speed will be reduced from 80/kph to 50/kph from the Pemberton traffic lights through to Mt.Currie commencing July 10 through July 21.

PARKING: • There is no general festival parking for attendees (other than campers). Parking enforcement will be in effect and cars parked illegally will be towed. • Parking is available for festival campers in designated parking zones. Upon entering Pemberton, campers should watch for traffic control personnel who will direct them to camper parking. • From July 17 to 20, street parking in residential areas of Pemberton will require a permit. Residents may obtain two residential street parking passes per residence from the Village of Pemberton office. • From July 17 to 20, parking in downtown Pemberton will be limited to four hours. • Local attendees taking the downtown festival shuttle can park in the Wye lands behind Village of Pemberton municipal hall. A local’s wristband is required to park there.

FESTIVAL SHUTTLES: • Whistler-based attendees should take the festival shuttles from Whistler Creekside or Whistler Olympic Plaza. Find out more here: http://pembertonmusicfestival.com/info/shuttles • Pemberton-based attendees can walk, bicycle or take the locals-only shuttle to the festival from downtown Pemberton or the Continental Pole Yard in Mt. WEEKEND TICKETS: Weekend passes are available at www.pembertonmusicfestival.com Locals-only tickets are available from The Meadows at Pemberton golf club. Proof of residence is required and tickets are limited to 4/household.

DAY TICKETS: Day tickets to the festival are now available on-line at www.pembertonmusicfestival.com or on-site from July 17 onward at the main box office located by the main festival entry. • Day tickets are available for Friday, Sat and Sunday only • Day tickets are available with shuttle passes only — single day + camping is not available • Day tickets are General Admission only. There are no VIP, Super-VIP or other upgraded day tickets.
