2 ABOUT ME

My name is Edwina Askew. I am from Brooklyn, NY. I am a mother of two beautiful children. I work at New York Presbyterian Hospital as a cashier. In 2012 I married my soulmate. I planned my dream wedding that turned out to be memorable and a huge success. I received so many compliments from my friends and family that day. I have also planned 7 birthday parties, 2 baby showers, and 2 christenings throughout the years. It was then that I knew I wanted to plan weddings, and events. I love being creative, putting ideas together, and creating unforgettable memories for people.

3E will be a wedding and event business that will serve all clients of various ages, cultures, styles, and business occasions. “ My goal is to help ease clients’ stress and worries when planning their big day”. I love to see the look on my clients faces when their big day approaches and it is everything that they ever imagined. I would also want my clients to recommend my work to other people they know.

The services that I offer are full service wedding & design, destination wedding planning & design, and partial wedding planning & month of coordination, etc.

My business plan is to place advertisements in community base newspapers, and events -related magazines, and sponsor relevant community- based events and programs. I would also like to place billboards in different locations.

The marketing strategies that I plan to use for my business are google search, craigslist, advertising, yelp, instagram, facebook, and youtube. I hope that using these strategies will help in bringing me clients to make my company grow successfully.

3

Our target market is any , Corporate companies, or anyone that wants to plan a party for any type of event.

Yes I do have a special talent, it is planning children’s birthday parties. I would be detailed and make sure to follow up with all appropriate vendors to ensure a beautiful event. I would say that is the talent that set me apart from others in the industry.

My goal in 1 year is to get my certificate from Lovegevity. I plan to do internships to see how wedding and event planners run their businesses. As well as to gain more experience before having my own business. In 5 years I hope to have a location in Brooklyn, NY, and to hire three people to work with me to start my business. I hope to plan 30+ different events throughout the years. In 10 years I hope to hire an assistant, and hope the company is still growing.

Same Sex Marriage Information

On June 24, 2011, the New York State Legislature passed the Marriage Equality Act which was signed into law by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo the same day. This new law took effect on July 24, 2011. Since that date the New York City Clerk has been issuing marriage licenses and providing civil marriage to same-sex couples. State law generally requires couples to wait 24 hours after receiving a license before they can be married.

View our new FAQ page for same-sex couples The following is a list of all domestic and international jurisdictions that perform same sex marriages as of June 22, 2018:

Same-sex marriage is now legal in all the states and territories of the United States including the District of Columbia as per the Supreme Court's decision in the case of Obergefell v. Hodges. Lawfully married individuals, including individuals in same-sex marriages, are entitled to more New York State rights and benefits than those registered as domestic partners here in New York City. If an individual lawfully enters into a same-sex marriage in a jurisdiction outside New York, they are entitled to most of the New York State rights and benefits available to people lawfully married in New York. If you are considering entering into a marriage in one of the

43 jurisdictions listed above, it is recommended that you contact that jurisdiction beforehand in order to learn about any applicable marriage requirements or restrictions.
