Category: Press Release Posted: June 29, 2017 YKIP signed MOU with TIPC on future cooperation On June 28, 2017 at 85 Skytower Hotel in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Yokohama-Kawasaki International Port Corporation (YKIP) signed MOU with Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC), aiming for future cooperation including research in fields of port management and operation etc. <Outline of the MOU > 【In Purpose of 】Enhancement of the mutual understanding and the close tie between YKIP and TIPC, in addition, to seek further opportunities toward future cooperation in business activities between the two parties 【 Fields of Research / Cooperation 】 A. Port development B. Port management and operation C. Logistics park development D. Networking E. Cooperation in any other areas to be mutually agreed upon by the parties < About Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC)> TIPC is a national enterprise that is wholly owned by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC), established on March 1 st , 2012. Upon its establishment, TIPC took over the port operation and management functions of the four Harbor Bureaus, (Keelung, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Hualien) from MOTC. TIPC administers the four subsidiary organizations of the Port of Keelung, Port of Taichung, Port of Kaohsiung, and Port of Hualien and manages all aspects of the business of these ports, their associated facilities, and their auxiliary ports. As a leading part of Japanese ICHs(*), YKIP will continue enhancing the network with ports overseas. *ICHs (International Container Hubs): A National Strategic Policy promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism(MLIT).
