  • RES INTEGRATION CONCEPT PAPER D5.1 – Final Version
GeoCom – FP7 CONCERTO – 239515 RES INTEGRATION CONCEPT PAPER D5.1 – Final version WP Leader: P9 – University of Szeged. Key Contributors: P1, P2, P8 2012 GEOCOM WP5 - Technological Research / WP5.1 Integration with other RES The main scope of this sub-WP has been to outline ways of integrating geothermal energy in energy systems in Central-Eastern Europe. In this WP available experience of integrating geothermal energy into a cascaded facility with a view to environmental improvements and extending the utilization time and spectrum of uses of such facilities has been be studied. Researchers at the University of Szeged looked at the economic and environmental factors of geothermal systems operating in the South Great Plain Region, outlined potential project sites and developed a number of project plans presented here in brief. We collected data from GeoCom project partners too regarding utilization in other CEE countries. This volume presents the first concise study of actual and potential geothermal projects in the South Great Plain of Hungary, with project concepts developed entirely by our researchers and contracted experts. Our work is complemented by data provided by our partners from Serbia, Slovakia, FYROM and Poland. As projects in renewable energy use differ greatly from one-another we did not intend to formulate general conclusions regarding economic or environmental factors of RES integration. Rather, we present the RE potential of the target region, showcase our development proposals, and provide a tool (GIS model) to assist future project development. As stated in Annex 1 the main scope of this sub-WP has been to outline ways of integrating geothermal sources in energy systems, including those with other RES.

  • Geothermal Development Opportunities in Oradea
Orkustofnun, Grensasvegur 9, Reports 2016 IS-108 Reykjavik, Iceland Number 14 GEOTHERMAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN ORADEA Adrian George Foghiș Oradea Metropolitan Area Piata Unirii 1-3 P.O. Box 410100, Oradea ROMANIA [email protected] ABSTRACT Located in an area of sedimentary basins with low-enthalpy geothermal resources, Oradea city in Romania has a tradition of geothermal research and exploitation. Considering the objectives of the local public administration to develop further the utilization of geothermal resources, the report presents potential geothermal development opportunities in the area. The necessity of a more efficient use of the existing resources and infrastructure is underlined, plus the need for a strategic orientation towards the increase in geothermal exploitation opportunities. Optimization with sustainability as a key goal in the utilization of the geothermal resource in Oradea is of importance, as well as improving air quality by reducing burning of fossil fuels, lowering the heating cost for the population and improving energy safety by increasing usage of a local energy source. This can help Romania to fulfil the 20-20-20 goal of the EU, which can improve the local development of the area. The report presents a proposal of a geothermal road map to 2030, with 3 phases of development at metropolitan level. 1. INTRODUCTION The main topic of the report relates to geothermal development opportunities, as it considers the geothermal resource being one of the most important future inputs for energetic mix independence in the Oradea region. This implies also actions towards a more extensive use of geothermal energy. The general literature review about the benefits of geothermal power and energy shows, that geothermal resources are a cheap form of renewable energy, with many advantages proven over time.

MUZEUL ŢĂRII CRIŞURILOR C R I S I A XLVIII ORADEA 2018 SITUL APARȚINÂND EPOCII BRONZULUI DE LA DIOSIG “COLONIE”. O REEVALUARE* Gruia Fazecaș**, Florin Gogâltan*** BRONZE AGE SITE FROM DIOSIG “COLONIE”. AN APPRAISAL Abstract The first archaeological discoveries in the Diosig area occur at the end of the XIXth century. Since then, were discovered artifacts and archaeological sites belonging to the Neolithic, Bronze Age and to the II-Ist century B.C. period around Diosig ( Pl. I). The first notes aboutthe site from Diosig “Colonie” are made by I. Ordentlich. He mentions a settlement belonging to the first and second phases of Otomani culture. The level of the Otomani II phase was disturbed by a inhumated tomb of a child, which had as inventory two vessels assigned to the Otomani III phase. From then on, until the time of this article, a series of papers and studies include references to this site without even knowing the location of the site, sometimes mixing the tomb inventory with disparate and accidental discoveries - supposedly coming from other graves. In 2015 a local citizen informed us about the discovery of some Bronze Age pottery fragments discovered during the exploitation of yellow clay in Diosig “Colonie” site (Pl. II). On site we discovered two features, partially affected by yellow clay exploitation and erosion: G1/2015 (pl III-IV) and G2/2015 (Pl. V, VI/6-10). Along with the ceramics, the pits contained bones, ash, charcoal, adobe fragments. The pottery fragments are attributed the Otomani II ceramic style. Chronologically, it can be attributed to the middle bronze II (Central European Bronze A2), which corresponds in absolute chronology to a time sequence somewhere approximately 1900 to 1700 BC.

She also knew that her father had been orphaned at age five, and was brought up by his grandfather and his aunt Vilma. She knew nothing else about the family.
