Extended Diploma students tend to choose HE programmes related to the vocational area they have studied. At Truro & Penwith College, each year over 350 students progress from vocational courses into Higher Education (Numbers are increasing each year) Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Medical Science) Gabi achieved a D*D*D* and was accepted to study Paramedic Science at Portsmouth. Reece achieved a DDD and is currently studying Adult Nursing at the University of Nottingham Annabel achieved a D*D*D* and was accepted to study a BSc in Radiography at Exeter University. Extended Diploma in Applied Science (Forensic Science) Rebecca achieved a D*D*D* and was accepted to study a BSc in Forensic and Analytical Investigation at Keele University. Sophie achieved a D*D*D and was accepted to study Zoology with Environmental Management at Harper Adams. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport Performance & Excellence Connor achieved D*D*D* for his Level 3 Sport Performance and Excellence Diploma. He is now studying a Foundation Degree in Sports Performance at Bath and is in the high performance triathlon team Level 3 Public Services Yasmin achieved D*D*D* on the Level 3 BTEC Public Services Diploma. She received a highly commended certificate for BTEC for her outstanding voluntary work and academic standards. She is now studying a FdSc in Public Services at Truro College with the aim of becoming a Police Officer. BTEC Extended Diploma In Business QCF Having successfully completed his BTEC Business Diploma James went onto to study Business Management at Swansea University. He is now studying for his research doctorate working alongside Port Talbot enterprise to help develop a context driven process to support open innovation. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism (QCF) Katie completed her Level 3 BTEC in Travel and Tourism with a D*D*D* grade and has since progressed to Cardiff Metropolitan University to continue her studies in International Tourism Management. She is excelling at university and is really pleased with her decision to progress to HE, she has adapted to life in Cardiff and is making the most of her university experience. Katie has continued to spend her summers working at Healey’s Cyder Farm back home in Cornwall. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Caleb completed his Extended Diploma in Music at Truro and progressed onto the song-writing course at BIMM. A talented banjo player, Caleb is still at university and touring venues across the south coast with his band. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts: Performance Connor took the Musical Theatre pathway and gained a place on the Musical Theatre course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Care . Sasha achieved D*D*D* and is now studying towards a degree in Mental Health and Counselling at the University of Gloucester . Harry achieved D*D*D* and is now studying towards a degree in Social Work at the University of Winchester . Halil achieved MMM and is now studying to become a primary school teacher at the University of the West of England in Bristol BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health Abbie achieved D*D*D and is now studying to become a Children’s Nurse at the University of Cardiff Freya achieved D*D*D and is now studying a degree in Midwifery at the University of Bournemouth Chloe achieved D*DD and is now studying to become a paramedic at the University of the West of England in Bristol FINANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION For students starting in 2020 Finance in Higher Education SFE – Student Finance England .
