The Pac-12 has established itself as the most dominant Olympic sports conference in the country, laying claim to 360 medals in the last five Olympiads. In the 2016 Rio , Conference representatives collected 55 medals (25 gold, 13 silver, 17 bronze), a total that would have ranked fifth in the overall medal count by country. Current Arizona State head coach was the head men’s coach for Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Bowman is now passing on the Team USA men’s head coach title on to current Cal coach David Durden for the 2020 Olympics.
