“The Entombment of Chaos” “The Entombment Of Chaos” Limited Edition CD digipak with bonus track + coffin-shaped patch Gatefold LP plus CD, Digital Album Release Date: September 11th, 2020 Two years and countless gigs and tours later, Californian death metal act SKELETAL REMAINS are proud to present the successor to 2018’s much-lauded “Devouring Mortality”. On September 11th, 2020, the band will release “The Entombment Of Chaos”, their fourth and most accomplished studio album to date, on Century Media Records worldwide. Once again, the band decided to rely on ‘Dan-power’, a perfect combination established on the previous record: “We chose to work with Dan Seagrave along with Dan Swanö once again for the artwork and mixing/mastering of the album as we were very satisfied with the work they both did on our last record.” While sticking to their blend of classic death metal from the early 90’s, SKELETAL REMAINS turned influences from Death, Obituary, Morbid Angel etc. into a darker, more consistent opus this time around, paying more intention to the album’s flow and adding a couple of surprises like the crushingly doomy ‘Eternal Hatred’, the melodic Metallica-esque intro to ‘Unfurling The Casket’ or the instrumental piece ‘Enshrined In Agony’. “This time around there are a few more songs on seven-string guitar than the last album, making it an overall heavier sounding record. We also wanted to incorporate more aggression and brutality to give the album that extreme edge it needed to top our last three releases. In addition to that, we brought in our good friend Charlie Koryn (Funebrarum, Ascended Dead) on drums to add his own pummeling sound into the mix giving us an end result we’re all extremely proud of.” Being avid fans of legendary guitarist James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament, Disincarnate, Cancer etc.), SKELETAL REMAINS not only incorporate comparable, melodic leads in their barrage of riffs, but also teamed up with Simon Duson of Carnation as guest vocalist to craft an excellent cover version of Disincarnate’s “Stench Of Paradise Burning”, which is included as an extra track on the CD coming with the first pressing of the LP and the limited edition digipak. SKELETAL REMAINS formed as Anthropophagy back in 2011, released two acclaimed albums through German label FDA Rekotz and honed their skills on the road, playing an impressive amount of gigs and tours early on in the band’s career. In 2018, the band took the proverbial next step, releasing their third record, “Devouring Mortality”, on Dark Descent in North America and Century Media internationally. Having toured with the likes of Obituary, Hatebreed, Municipal Waste, Power Trip, The Black Dahlia Murder, and many more, SKELETAL REMAINS have succeeded in building up a loyal following worldwide and will now excite their supporters once again with a strong sonic statement. “We feel this is a huge step up from our previous releases and cannot wait to share it with all fans of Death Metal! The songs are a bit more refined and mature, but it's the same black metal you've grown to love. I recently got the chance to chat with Tormentor. Below we discuss the new album, the many line-up changes over the years and whether or not Gorgoroth writes love songs! Dive in and fill your head with all this extreme knowledge. Meilani: How long did it take to make "Incipit Satan?" Lyrics and all. Tormentor: Well, we were in the studio, Sunlight Studios, we used three weeks for recording and another week for mixing. Before that we rehearsed for a couple of months. We don't rehearse very much, we just rehearse right before the album. The music is mainly written by me and the other guitarist, Infernus. We get together and arrange the music and mix it and get together with all the guys. M: Was the recording process for this album any different from the recording process of the previous albums? T: Well, it was different. And that is what we wanted. We all live in the city of Bergen, in Norway. The studio we have been using is in the city. So, on the former albums we went to the studio and did what we had to do then got back to work or whatever and this time we got to Stockholm, Sweden. You're 100% into working with music all the time.

Late 1970's The rise of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Bands like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest become very popular. 1978 Van Halen released their debut album. This began the Los Angeles/Sunset Strip scene, and many bands would come out of this era, including Motley Crue and Quiet Riot.
