Phone: 1-250-656-1138 Boarding Time 2:00 pm While you are making your way to the ship your crew is busily preparing Swell for your voyage. Our turnaround activities between trips are precisely timed and as it is important to us that the ship is in top shape for your arrival, please plan to only arrive at the ship at the designated boarding time. If you arrive early, we welcome you to enjoy the town of Sidney, its picturesque boardwalk and main street. Van Isle Marina is a 5-min taxi from the main street. Where to Meet Maple Leaf crew will meet all guests at the entrance to Van Isle Marina at the white anchor and will assist you with your bags. Port of Return Port McNeill, BC, Municipal Wharf (airport is Port Hardy, BC) Disembarking Time 10:30 am First and Last Meal First Meal Aboard: “Welcome Aboard” afternoon snack Last Meal Aboard: The “Famous” Maple Leaf Brunch on the last day of the trip How to Get to the Ship Van Isle Marina is located on the Saanich Peninsula on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. It takes approximately 45 minutes to drive on the Pat Bay Highway (Highway 17), from downtown Victoria to Van Isle Marina. It is approximately a 10 minute drive from BC Ferries’ Swartz Bay terminal or a 5-10 minute cab ride from Victoria International Airport, or a 5 minute drive from the Washington State ferry. Taxi Yellow Cab: 250-381-2222 or 1-800-808 -6881 By Car Driving: Exit Pat Bay Highway (HWY 17) at McDonald Park Road heading east, turn right on Resthaven Dr, turn left on Harbour Rd, the marina is near the end of the road at 2320 Harbour Rd. Parking: There is a parking lot in the Marina that is free to our guests upon asking the marina for a parking pass. Let them know you are traveling with us and they will provide you with one for the duration of your trip. Ferries B.C. Ferry Corporation 1-888-BCFERRY www.bcferries.bc.ca An extensive passenger and vehicle ferry system exists, linking mainland B.C. with Vancouver Island. Ferries leave Tsawwassen for Swartz Bay (10 minutes from Sidney) every two hours beginning at 7 am with an approximate 1½ hour crossing. Please confirm sailing times closer to your departure (available online). During April there is one sailing departing Anacortes at 8 am arriving in Sidney at approximately 11 am, weather permitting (please confirm sailing times closer to your departure date – available online). These are international crossings that require pre-boarding time to clear customs. How to Return Home By Air: Fly Port Hardy to Vancouver with Pacific Coastal Airlines. Your ship’s Captain can arrange a taxi for you to take from Port McNeill, where the trip ends, to the Port Hardy Airport. This is a 35 minute drive. The taxi fare will be approximately $50 cash and can be split amongst other passengers. Please have cash on hand prior to arriving in Port Hardy as there is no ATM at the airport. Pacific Coastal Airlines 1-800-663-2872 www.pacificcoastal.com Note: Pacific Coastal flies to the (peaceful!) South Terminal at Vancouver International Airport. There is a regular shuttle from the south terminal to the main terminal. Pacific Coastal suggests allowing 60 minutes from door to door, plus check in time, to meet boarding and check in times for connecting flights. By Car: If you would like to drive home from Port McNeill, you are able to rent a car at the Port Hardy Airport. Please contact National or Budget for more details. Please note the ship cannot wait for passengers and small commercial vessels or float planes are usually relatively expensive options. These costs, should they be incurred, will be the sole responsibility of the passenger. We highly recommend trip cancellation insurance, which protects you in case you need to cancel your booking. Please also ensure your medical insurance covers possible emergency evacuation from a remote location. The travel agent can help you.
