METMEYER Is a Rare Opportunity for Any Breeder PASSPORT A RARE OPPORTUNITY As the only half-sister to the dominant and spectacular 4 time Grade 1 winner MONOMOY GIRL, METMEYER is a rare opportunity for any breeder. In foal to Tapit’s record-breaking son- the superlative FROSTED- Metmeyer is of- fered in foal on a very-similar cross to her Classic winning sister, MONOMOY GIRL, who is “undeniably among the best, if not THE BEST, of her generation.” -Breeders’ Cup In foal to METMEYER HIP Frosted Drosselmeyer – Drumette, by Henny Hughes 224 BARN 7 Selling Sunday, November 4th HISTORY IN THE MAKING Crossing the wire first in 9 of her 10 lifetime starts, the sensational Monomoy Girl- METMEYER’s half-sister- has amassed 4 consecutive Grade 1 victories and earnings of over $1,800,000. She has laid waste to the three-year-old filly division in 2018 and is the obvious and DOMINANT filly of her class on the course of a Championship season. Never regressed in effort! APRIL 7, 2018- $500,000 GRADE 1 ASHLAND AT KEENELAND 1st by 5 ½ Lengths, 95 Beyer, 3 Thoro-Graph WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS ) CLICK TO VIEW CHART MONOMOY GIRL runs away with the G1 Ashland “There wasn’t really a plan, just wanted to get a good position and let the filly be comfortable. I hustled her a little bit from post one. We had the rail and we had the right of going. We just took it to them and she was the BEST. She can go very fast.” – Jockey, Florent Geroux MAY 4, 2018- $1,000,0000 GRADE 1 KENTUCKY OAKS AT CHURCHILL DOWNS 1st by ½ length, 97 Beyer, 1 ½ Thoro-Graph WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS ) CLICK TO VIEW CHART “Just saw Monomoy Girl drew post 14 for the Kentucky Oaks. She’s good enough to overcome it, but that’s a drag. I’m big on the best horses winning the big races.” – Andy Serling, NYRA “It is what it is. We’ll come up with a game plan and run a play. Obviously she’s a good filly and good horses overcome things.” – Brad Cox on drawing post 14 “She popped out of the gate for the $1 million Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) on her toes, and in a handful of strides MONOMOY GIRL was in about as auspicious a spot as you could ask, given her starting spot from post 14. – Alicia Wincze Hughs, BloodHorse “The pair battled stride-for-stride down the lane, but Monomoy Girl would not be denied and summoned all she had to edge clear of Wonder Gadot in the final strides and take home the lillies.” – TDN “Every waking moment the last several months has been designed to culminate with her draped in the sweet smell of victory and lilly on May 4- and not a determined rival, not a post-race claim of foul, not even her own wandering focus was going to keep the headstrong filly from holding up her end of the bargain.” – BloodHorse Even with the reality of just his second career Grade 1 win and first Oaks victory still sinking in, Cox said his mind was already coming up with the next plan for MONOMOY GIRL to attack. A start in the June 9th, Grade 1 Acorn Stakes would likely be her next major target with the goal to end her campaign with Eclipse Award accolades. “Obviously, right now the goal is to accomplish enough with her to make her a champion 3-year-old.” – Trainer, Brad Cox JUNE 9, 2018- $700,000 GRADE 1 ACORN AT BELMONT 1st by 2 Lengths, 97 Beyer, - ¾ Thoro-Graph WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS ) CLICK TO VIEW CHART “Today was just picture perfect. She was very relaxed. I stayed behind as long as I could and when I was ready to go turning for home, I let her go- it was just a matter of how many lengths she was going to win it by.” – Jockey, Florent Geroux “Ears pricked, with a dominant victory June 9 in the $700,000 Acorn Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park, Monomoy Girl wrapped up execution of a first-half season in which she has done nothing but deliver.” – Claire Crosby, BloodHorse JULY 22, 2018 - $300,000 G1 COACHING CLUB AMERICAN OAKS 1st by 2 Lengths, 97 Beyer, - ¾ Thoro-Graph WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS ) CLICK TO VIEW CHART “Now you can pretty much write in July 22 at Saratoga Race Course as the clincher for the 3-year-old fillies’ crown. Monomoy Girl did her part to make Eclipse Award voting academic by cruising to a convincing, frontrunning, three-length victory over Mother Goose Stakes (G2) winner Midnight Bisou in the 102nd edition of the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1).” –Bob Ehalt, BloodHorse SEPTEMBER 22, 2018 - $1,000,000 G1 COTILLION 1st across the wire by a neck, 101 Beyer, 1 ½ Thoro-Graph WATCH RACE REPLAY (SHE IS ) CLICK TO VIEW CHART “The 50th running of the $1 million Cotillion at Parx Saturday, ended with a wild finish as victory was snatched away from Monomoy Girl and awarded instead to second place finisher Midnight Bisou, who had been beaten by a neck in the 1 1/16 mile race.” – theracingbiz.com “Where Monomoy Girl fits in with the best 3-year-old fillies of recent years is yet to be determined, and stuff of water cooler talk, but it cannot be denied that she is on the verge of a special season.” – Brian Zipse, Horseracingnation.com ELITE COMPETITOR Monomoy Girl has not ducked any competition on her way to an incredible career. In her 10 lifetime starts, she has crossed the wire first in 9, losing by a neck in her only defeat and has faced 58 opponents, 1 Breeders’ Cup winner, 6 G1 winners, 5 G2 winners, 7 G3 winners and 12 Stakes winners including: Eclipse Champion and Breeders’ Cup Winner G1W CALEDONIA ROAD MG1W MIDNIGHT BISOU (defeated 2x) MG1W SEPARATIONOFPOWERS MG1W MOONSHINE MEMORIES G1W HEAVENLY LOVE G1W ESKIMO KISSES (defeated 3x) Queen’s Plate Winner, G2W/G1P Wonder Gadot (defeated 3x) G2W COACH ROCKS G2W MY MISS LILLY G2W CHOCOLATE MARTINI G3W/G1P TALK VEUVE TO ME She is the dominant leader of the 3 year-old filly division. “She is the female Gun Runner” – Florent Geroux DRF Watchmaker Watch, February 19 DRF Watchmaker Watch, October 15 HALF-SIS TO A CLASSIC WINNER- IN FOAL TO A CLASSIC WINNER METMEYER is offered in foal on1 cover (Mar-3) to Tapit’s highest rated son as stud: FROSTED (A-rated cross). Her dedication to the Fund was consistent with her lifetime of tireless commitment to a variety of civic and professional organizations here in New York. She will long be remembered not only as a role model for women involved in the practice of law but also as a forceful advocate for the humane treatment of all animals.

  • Ruffian (1972 Reviewer
Ruffian by Kathleen Jones Ruffian was bred and owned by Mr & Mrs Stuart Janney for their Locust Hill Farm. She was born at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky from some breeding stock which the Janneys kept there. Her sire, Reviewer, won 9 of his 13 starts in a career plagued with injuries. Ruffian was a product of his first crop. Her dam, Shenanigans had won 3 of her 22 starts, and prior to foaling Ruffian, had already produced the good stakes winner Icecapade. Under the care of trainer Frank Whiteley Jr, her very first start came on May 22 at Belmont. The event was a 5 1/2 furlong maiden purse and Ruffian equaled the track record by running the distance in 1:03 flat. She was immediately moved up to stakes company and won the 5 1/2 furlong Fashion Stakes at Belmont in an identical time. The Janneys knew they had something special. Ruffian then won the Astoria Stakes at Aqueduct (5 1/2 furlongs) in 1:02 4/5. She appeared to be getting faster with every start. Her first attempt at 6 furlongs was in the Sorority Stakes at Monmouth in late July, and she won that clocking a very fast time of 1:09. This was followed up with a win in the Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga in which she ran the 6 furlongs in an even faster time of 1:08 3/5! As an undefeated multiple stakes winner of clearly superior skill and lightning fast speed, Ruffian was selected as the champion juvenile filly of 1974.
