SOUTH TEXAS PLAINS Lake Casa Blanca INTERNATIONAL STATE PARK

In the hot and arid climate of , Lake Casa Blanca International State Park provides a refreshing and welcome retreat for water skiing, swimming, picnicking and boating. Thanks to a dense growth of reeds and other water plants along the shore, the lake is also excellent habitat for a variety of fishes, and anglers can look forward to some great sport. An 18-hole golf course adjoins the park.

Camping: Limited number with water and electricity (30 and 50 amps) and full hook-ups. Group Facilities: Day-use pavilions: Rockbarn (40), Ranchito (200), Recreation Hall (100), Aviary (35). Picnicking: Picnic sites with tables, grills and shade shelters. Swimming: Two designated swimming beach areas in lake. Sports Courts: Volleyball pits, tennis and basketball courts. Boating: Boat dock and ramp. Also skiing. Fishing: Possible catches include largemouth bass, sunfish, white and black crappie, and channel, flathead and blue catfish. Birdwatching: White-collared Seedeater nest here annually. See other South Texas specialties such as Green Jay and Grooved-bill Ani.
