CONDUCTOR AND SOLOIST – Aleksey Igudesman (violin) ORCHESTRA – String orchestra, harpsichord, percussion “The Other Seasons”, or “4 Seasons, 12 Reasons and 24 Seasonings” is inspi- red by both Vivaldi and Piazzolla alike. Much like Vivaldi, Igudesman’s work is comprised of 3 movements for each season. Each movement has a “reason” for being there, some simply because “it’s fun”or because “it tastes good”. Each “reason” additionally contains two musical “seasonings”, such as salt, paprika or even lemon grass. Playful, humorous, and deliciously original, Igudesman incorporates fragments of Vivaldi into his own composition. In other parts, Tango rhythms underline the virtuosic, yet extremely melodious solo violin part. VERSION 1 Between the seasons, Igudesman performs his own original and often humorous arrangements of music by Strauss, Mozart and Kreisler. The promotion of the concert and ensuing dinner is our usual organisational challenge and this year we tried to become more attune to the modern age, on the one hand by digitalising the invitations and on the other by showing you all that our future and eternity lies with the next generation: Natasha, Philip-Leopold, Amélie, Alexandre, Larissa, Kyril, Joia and Olympia, Maïté & François, Charlotte & Willi, Antoine and Louis now are your hosts just as much as we are!
