PH JOHN ILLSLEY: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF DIRE STRAITS Along with Mark Knopfler, John was a founder member of the legendary band who, during their time together, sold over 120 million albums. The evening will feature a Q & A and stories from his career plus classics from the Dire Straits history performed by John and some fellow musicians including: Money for Nothing, Brothers in Arms, Romeo and Juliet and Sultans of Swing. ALY BAIN AND PHIL CUNNINGHAM Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham have been touring since 1986, won a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Duo and been nominated in the Scottish Traditional Music Awards for ’Live Act of the Year’. Together they are simply the best traditional musicians you are ever likely to hear. Thursday 19 March 7.30pm £18. TUPELO TO VEGAS: A TRIBUTE TO ELVIS Jared Lee recreates the electrifying career of Elvis Presley. Taking you back to The Early Years, NBC ‘68 Comeback Special, Elvis That’s The Way It Is and more. All faithfully recreated by Jared and his band including all of the hits from 1954 to 1977: The Wonder Of You, Heartbreak Hotel, Blue Suede Shoes, Viva Las Vegas and American Trilogy to name but a few. PETTY CRIMINALS - TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS TRIBUTE BAND Petty Criminals bring you an evening of classic rock in the shape of an iconic American band: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. From deep cuts to greatest hits, you’ll journey through early hits like American Girl, Breakdown and Refugee, through the 80s and early 90s with classics like Freefallin’, Runnin’ Down A Dream, I Won’t Back Down. Saturday 21 March 7.30pm £18.50. RACHAEL MCSHANE AND THE CARTOGRAPHERS Rachael McShane is a singer, cellist, fiddle and viola player based in the north east of England. An original member of folk big band Bellowhead, she is now working on a new solo project of traditional songs and is playing with a brand new band, The Cartographers. Wednesday 25 March 7.30pm £16. STEPHEN DALE PETIT Stephen Dale Petit and his razor sharp band exclusively debut his highly anticipated new, sixth album, 2020 Visions, along with some gorgeously familiar blues classics. Expect dynamic, guitar-based excitement born of the blues and spiced with a refreshingly daring approach. Friday 27 March 7.30pm £17. THE COUNTERFEIT SIXTIES Re-live the sounds of the swinging sixties, as Britain’s No. 1 tribute show brings alive the magic of the decade, with their tribute to over twenty five bands of that era. The show encompasses everything from that period, including tributes to the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Dave Clark Five, The Kinks and The Monkees - to name but a few. Saturday 28 March 7.30pm £19. PROMENADE CONCERT ORCHESTRA – MUSIC FROM THE PALM COURT The essence of light music comes from the early nineteenth century until the 1960s, when live music could be heard everywhere; in cafes and concert halls, spas and watering places, dance halls and piers. This concert programme will be another celebration of this historic and well-loved music and will feature some rarely heard works by Elgar and Haydn Wood and a surprise item too. Sunday 29 March 3pm £16, £14 concession, Accompanied children free. PH T. REXTASY T.Rextasy have been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically out lives Marc Bolan’s very own T.Rex. They are the world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to Marc Bolan and T.Rex, and have been described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute’. Want to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 70s? This show is for you! Friday 3 April 7.30pm £23.50. GARY STEWART’S GRACELAND Led by the legendary Leeds-based troubadour Gary Stewart (Gary Stewart Band / Hope and Social) and backed by his incredible six-piece band, this spectacular group of musicians come together to recreate Paul Simon’s landmark Graceland album in all its glory. Expect to hear those magical songs, with their captivating stories, distinctive harmonies and South African rhythms brought to life. Saturday 4 April 7.30pm £15.
