Greetings again, fellow members. I want to begin this message by addressing an issue that has unfortunately been prevalent in the news recently. We have seen a surge in recent weeks of anti-Semitism across the country with defacing of Jewish gravestones and numerous threats to many of our JCC’s. Nationally, law enforcement has responded immediately and SHOMRIM OFFICERS - 2017 tirelessly to these acts.

Such acts should have no place in twenty-first century society, against Jews or people of any other faith. As Police Officers, we remain mindful that we have taken an oath to uphold the constitution, which includes the protection of religious liberty for all. As Jews, we remember the history of anti-Semitism as we will see this month and next with the observances of Purim, Pesach, and Yom HaShoah.

Our next membership meeting will be held on Monday, March 20th. We will have a very special guest speaker, recently retired SBA Vice-President Bob Ganley. Bob will be speaking on an issue relevant to every MOS regardless of rank, active, or retired.

Finally, March 26th, we will be having our annual Installation Dinner Dance. Please come and eat, drink, dance, Mitch Chosak, Edward Mamet, and watch our board be installed. On March 31st, we’ll be packaging our Seder packages for the Passover Distribution Henry Leshnower, Andy Newmann, Jeremy Orenstein, on April 2nd. I hope to see you at all of these great events, *Jules Sachson (Emeritus), Seymour Ornstein (Emeritus), and stay safe! *David Burd, *Abraham Rosenberg
