MINNESOTA WILD FORWARD ZACH PARISE SCHEDULED TO PLAY 1,000TH NHL GAME TONIGHT

SAINT PAUL, Minn. – forward Zach Parise is scheduled to play in his 1,000th NHL game tonight when the Wild plays at the at 7:30 p.m. on FOX Sports North and KFAN 100.3 FM.

Parise, 35 (7/28/84), will become the 347th player (344th skater) in NHL history to reach the 1,000-game milestone. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound native of Bloomington, Minn., will be the eighth player to play his 1,000th game in a Wild sweater, joining (Dec. 1, 2019 vs. Dallas), Ryan Suter (Oct. 25, 2018 vs. Los Angeles), Eric Staal (March 19, 2017 at Winnipeg), Matt Cooke (March 11, 2014 vs. Edmonton), Matt Cullen (Jan. 10, 2012 vs. San Jose), Andrew Brunette (Feb. 1, 2011 vs. Los Angeles) and Keith Carney (Feb. 24, 2008 vs. Calgary).

Signed as a free agent by Minnesota on July 4, 2012, Parise has recorded 369 points (187-182=369) including 67 power-play goals (PPG), 35 game-winning goals (GWG), 201 minutes (PIM) and a plus-15 rating in 497 games with the Wild. He ranks first in franchise history in PPG, second in GWG, third in scoring, goals and shots on (1,583), sixth in power-play points (111) and eighth in assists and games played.

Parise will also become the eighth Minnesota-born player to reach the 1,000-game milestone. He ranks first all- time amongst Minnesota-born players in goals and GWG, second in PPG and shots on goal, third in scoring and eighth in assists. Parise ranks T-1st amongst active American-born players in goals and fourth in scoring.

He owns 779 points (381-398=779) including 118 PPG, 72 GWG, 378 PIM and a plus-72 rating in 999 career NHL games with New Jersey and Minnesota. Parise has recorded 74 points (35-39=74) in 97 career Stanley Cup Playoff contests. He is the franchise leader in playoff scoring and goals with 31 points (14-17=31) in 36 games, and ranks T-1st in assists. Parise was selected by New Jersey with the 17th selection in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

He and his father, J.P. Parise, rank sixth all-time in combined NHL games among fathers and sons at 1,889. His charitable interests include United Heroes League and Children’s Minnesota, where he is a title sponsor of a private patient room.

The Wild will honor Parise for reaching the 1,000-game NHL milestone in a special pre-game ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 15 when it hosts the San Jose Sharks at 4 p.m. Special edition Zach Parise jersey towels and bobbleheads will be available for purchase at the Minnesota Wild Foundation booth located at Section 104 on Feb. 15. All fans attending the game will receive a commemorative Parise canvas on the outbound.
