Critics' Choice Awards 2018 LIGHTING UP THE CRITICS’ CHOICE AWARDS ANGELINA JOLIE THE MOM OF SIX LEADS THE FASHION PARADE AS COLOUR RETURNS TO THE RED CARPET hile Hollywood’s leading ladies em- W braced the all-black dress code at the Golden Globes a week earlier, they had a little more fun with fashion at the equally star-studded Critics’ Choice Awards. As Nicole Kidman dazzled in sparkly semi- sheer pink (see previous story), Angelina Jo- lie exuded Old Hollywood glamour in a custom white feathered gown from Ralph & Russo that showed off her slim figure as well as her toned back and arms. The Maleficent star and mom of six, who is currently trying to settle custody arrange- ments with her ex-husband Brad Pitt, walked the red carpet solo in the strapless gown and kept accessories to a minimum, wearing only a diamond ring and earrings (by Neil Lane) and a pop of red lipstick. Angelina, 42, whose filmFirst They Killed My Father was up for Best Foreign Language Film, was in an upbeat mood, posing playfully on the blue carpet with her friend and the film’s writer and producer, Loung Ung. She also took time to thrill a young fan, Brooklynn Prince of The Florida Project, giving the little girl a hug. FHM's 100 Sexiest Women is an annual list compiled by the monthly British male lifestyle magazine FHM, on the basis of which women they consider sexy. As of 2017, each year the list is first announced through a section on the official FHM website, FHM.com. The first list was published in 1995 and was voted on by a group of 250 judges. The first winner was German supermodel Claudia Schiffer. From 1996 to 2015, the public voted for him, and at the peak of his growth, several million votes were cast each year. Then the winners were British singer Cheryl, American actress Halle Berry and Jennifer Lopez. Currently, the winner of the title Sexiest Woman is the Israeli actress Gal Gadot. Along with the list of the 100 sexiest women, FHM also published the List of Most Suitable Bachelors in 2006 and 2007 to celebrate such qualities as talent, star quality and cash. These lists were topped by American actress Mischa Barton and American socialite Kimberly Stewart, respectively. The eight-episode series is currently airing on HOT and will stream worldwide later this year on Apple TV Plus. The series hails from creator Sigal Avin, who served as director in addition to writing. It follows Alice (Ayelet Zurer), a 48 year old film director who feels irrelevant since raising her family. After a brief encounter on the train, she becomes obsessed with 24 year old screenwriter, femme-fatale, Sophie (Lihi Kornowski), and eventually surrenders her moral integrity in order to achieve power, relevance and success. The series uses flashbacks and flash-forwards to take viewers through the conscious and subconscious parts of Alice’s mind. This is the second Israeli co-production deal Apple has announced in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Apple announced it would co-produce the thriller series “Tehran,” about a female Mossad agent who goes deep undercover on a dangerous mission in the titular Iranian capital. The streamer is also currently working on “Suspicion” starring Uma Thurman, which is based on the Israeli series “False Flag.” Other international shows include “Pachinko,” based on the Min Jin Lee novel of the same name, “Shantaram” starring Charlie Hunnam and based on the Gregory David Robert novel of the same name, “Slow Horses” starring Gary Oldman,” and “Masters of the Air” from Amblin Television and Playtone.
