The timeline begins with the Express Building, the masterpiece created by Sir Owen Williams, a futuristic 1939-built Art Deco gem that became Manchester’s youngest listed building in the 1970s.

The Express was at the time the world’s most popular newspaper, and a community quickly built up around it, the fulcrum of the city’s first-generation communications economy.

ONE Express was originally created as an extension to the main building, but following reconfiguration and restoration, is separate once again, offering a unique space steeped in the area’s rich heritage.

ONE Express continues the classic silhouette of the original Express building, with the sleek curtain walling, curved edges and art deco aesthetic providing a futuristic contrast to the redbrick cityscape.
