Position Title: Senior Administrator Department: Technology FLSA Status: Exempt (02-17-008) Location: Seattle, Downtown Reports to: Database Development Manager Updated: February 2017

Position Summary: This position acts as primary and is an active contributor in database designing, development, implementation, review and supporting critical business functions; Guiding developers using current SQL Server features, recommendation on database change requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Maintain all database environments using effective and automated deployment maintenance approach 2. Support SQL Server production environment including server performance monitoring and recommending changes for improvements 3. Perform activities including; installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database backup & restore, disaster recovery, database server upgrades, and maintenance for clustered database servers. 4. Analyze, plan, deploy and manage BI infrastructure. 5. Follow defined software development lifecycle best practices. 6. Research and prototype new database features, design, and architecture ahead of mainstream development. 7. Create automation tests for performance monitoring, deployment, Server, and release verification 8. Understand and apply the basic principles of entity relationship model design, good data typing practices, index management, data management, and data security. 9. Applies analytical thinking skills to plan for future growth of systems/tools, troubleshoot and solve database issues. 10. Work effectively with management and members to clarify needs and priorities.

Educational and Skills Requirements:

• Expert level knowledge of TSQL, performance tuning, Query Plans, and Query Plan optimization for TSQL. • Experience working in small teams with a good mix of autonomy and accountability. • Expert level knowledge in SQL Server 2008-2016 including all latest features introduced in SQL Server 2012, 2014 & 2016 • Experience working on Server Core of Windows Server 2012/2016 • Experience with SQL 2012/2014 Always On High Availability configuration, support, and troubleshooting • Advance level skills in PowerShell scripting. • Experience of managing and developing SQL Server, BI Suite, database custom tools using SQL Server Data Tools/Visual Studio 2013-2015 IDE’s. • Strategic and in-depth technical understanding of BI/DW architectures. • Strong technical and business communication skills. • Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a results-oriented, fast-paced dynamic environment. • 10+ years of database administration experience including 5+ years’ experience in SQL Server database administration. • 5+ years designing and developing database in MS SQL Server utilizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, queries etc. (or alternately 5+ years with an equivalent product such as DB2, Oracle, or MySQL). • 3+ years’ experience in Windows Server 2012/2014/2016 including Core server. • 3+ years’ experience in TFS. • Computer Science basics that come from either a degree in CS or the equivalent experiences. • Preferred: o SQL Server 2012/2014 DBA certified. o 3+ years building complex Data Warehouses o Hands on experience in SSIS, SSAS, SSRS. o Hands on experience in IDERA products o Travel industry experience; or Ecommerce experience with CRM or online sales. o Experience with B2B data integrations work, including a variety of integration modes (file transfer, web services, SSIS, etc.).
