442 SECTION 3 Facing History and Ourselves at 40.

Facing History and Ourselves gives educators and youth the skills to wrestle with today’s difficult issues through the lens of history.

Teachers work closely with students to make personal connections between their past and their present, between others and themselves. Facing History aspires to a world shaped by knowledge, empathy, and action, rather than bigotry, antisemitism, and racism. We believe that by empowering our youth, they will build a more engaged, moral, and compassionate society.

Our youth will change the world for the better if we help them pave the way.

Facing History helps students confront today's difficult issues with empathy—empowering youth to make compassionate and informed choices. The following stories feature just a few of the extraordinary supporters who are helping us pave the way for them.
