Applications may be inspected free of charge at the Office of the Traffic Commissioner in Leeds by any person who carries written authorisation to act in that capacity. Objections against published applications may be made in writing by a Chief Officer of Police, a local authority, a planning authority or a prescribed trade union or assoc iation within 21 days of the date on which notice of an application is published in Applications and Decisions. Objections must be made either on the grounds that any of the requirements listed in Section 13 of the Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995 are not met and/or that a nominated operating centre will be unsuitable for use as such. A copy of the objection must be sent by the objector to the applicant at the same time that it is sent to the Traffic Commissioner. The onus of proof in terms of the grounds on which an objection is lodged lies with the objector. You may fax a copy of your objection to 0113 2488521 but please note that you must send the original signed document through the post. Classification of Operator Licences – There are three classes of licence: • A Restricted (R) licence authorises the use of a goods vehicle on public roads in Great Britain for the carriage of the licence holder’s own goods in the course of his trade or business. The licence holder cannot carry goods for other people for hire or reward; • A Standard National (SN) licence allows the licence holder to carry both his own goods and goods for other people for hire or reward, on public roads in Great Britain. He can also carry his own goods on journeys abroad; • A Standard International (SI) licence allows the licence holder to carry both his own goods and goods for other people for hire or reward. These activities can be undertaken both in Gre at Britain and on international journeys. Administrative history Poor law unions were established by the Poor Law (Amendment) Act of 1834, which provided for parishes (which until then had each individually provided poor relief for their own inhabitants) to be grouped together into unions. In each union a board of guardians was to be elected to be responsible for the administration of poor relief, with paid officials appointed to carry out the day to day work. Funding of relief was to continue on the same basis as before the Act, i.e. by means of poor rates, paid by all householders, and collected by the parish overseers. Relief to able-bodied applicants, and some non-able bodied, was to be available only in the workhouse, where conditions were to be such as to deter all but the genuinely destitute; however, outdoor relief (payment in money or in kind to individuals in their own homes) was allowed for the non-able bodied in certain circumstances.

A range of information sources were utilised to feed into the assessment. These included an analysis of the local housing registers, household projections, homelessness data, house prices, rental prices, household incomes, dwelling stock turnover and housing supply data. Household sizes were found to be increasingly smaller across all markets, with acute need for one and two bedroom properties. There is also a disparity in demand to live in specific areas across Merthyr Tydfil; the Town, Penydarren, Cyfarthfa and Dowlais Wards proving most popular. Whilst assessing the local housing market as a whole, this study specifically estimated the deficit of affordable housing within the County Borough. Overall,

Walking in the footsteps of iron workers and their wealthy masters, our route starts from Cyfarthfa Castle and heads down over the river Taff to the site of the old Cyfarthfa ironworks before heading up the Taff Trail along a green corridor out of town. Calling in at Vaynor Church, the route then loops back to climb to the summit of Morlais Hill, site of a ruined Norman castle, before returning down along the banks of the delightful cascading Taf Fechan river, and back to the start.
