VISITOR INFORMATION

Access Control - All visitors seeking access to Tobyhanna Army Depot need to bring valid Federal or State-issued photograph identification. Visitors wishing to drive onto the installation must have a valid driver’s license, current vehicle registration, automobile insurance card and a valid inspection. Vehicles entering Tobyhanna Army Depot are subject to search at any time. Any visitor to the installation must enter through the Right Lane at the Main Gate to be processed by Security personnel at the Visitor Control Center. A map is attached.

Hours of Operation - Normal operating hours for Tobyhanna Army Depot are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. For hours or events on weekends, holidays and regular days of closure, contact the Protocol Office for a schedule of operations.

VISITOR INFORMATION (Cont.)

Safety Info – Closed toe/heel shoes are required in all mission work areas. Safety shoes, safety glasses or other protective equipment may be required in other work areas. Contact the Protocol Office for additional information.

Personal Cell Phones/Other Personal Electronic Devices (PED)/Cameras and Video The use of personal cellular phones is limited to certain areas within the installation in order to prevent interference with the depot’s electronics maintenance mission. Acceptable locations include cafeterias and exterior locations not adjacent to functioning electronics equipment. Furthermore, individuals with cellular phones with integrated digital cameras with either still or video capabilities are prohibited from taking photographs without an approved camera pass. At no time shall cell phone or other PEDs be taken into a classified open storage area.

Driver Distractions. Vehicle operators and operators of Government owned vehicles shall not use cell phones unless the vehicle is safely parked or unless they are using a hands-free device. The wearing of any other portable headphones, earphones, or other listening devices (except for hand-free cellular phones) while operating a motor vehicle is prohibited. Use of those devices impairs driving and masks or prevents recognition of emergency signals, alarms, announcements, the approach of vehicles, and human speech. Cameras/Video – PEDs are permitted on-post. However, photographs/videos may not be taken without a permit issued by the Security Division. Contact Protocol for information.

DIRECTIONS

When using a GPS, use the address of the U.S. Post Office located outside the gate on Rte 423. 8 Main St, Tobyhanna, PA 18466

FROM WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON INT’L AIRPORT: Approximately 10 miles north on I-81, then 20 miles south on I-380. Exit 8 from I-380 takes you directly into depot.

FROM STROUDSBURG: Take I- 80 W to I-380 N (approx. 5 miles) to Exit 8, turn right at stop sign, go Rte 611 (approx. 1/8 mile), turn left on Rte 611 (approx. ½ mile), turn right to depot.

FROM HAZLETON: Take I-80 W (follow directions from Stroudsburg).

FROM UPSTATE NEW YORK: Take I-81 S to I-380 S (approx. 20 miles). Depot is off Exit 8.

FROM NEW YORK CITY: Take I-80 W (follow directions from Stroudsburg).

LEHIGH VALLEY INT’L AIRPORT: Rte 22 E (10 miles), Rte 33 North (25 miles), I-80 W to 380- N (15 miles), Exit 8 off I-380, Turn right on Rte 423. At stop sign, turn left on Rte 611 (½ mile), turn right to depot.
